You have:
- At least bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering; master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years professional experiences in health sector, working in hospital oxygen supply system is preferable.
- Good leadership, communication, and negotiation/advocacy skills.
- Experience of engagement with local and provincial government in project administration is essential.
- Updated knowledge in preparing and/or oversight of biomedical equipment condition assessment, specification, and maintenance network of biomedical and hospital equipment.
- Good writing skills in English and Nepali.
- Computer skills (word, power point, excel etc.).

The health section, UNICEF Nepal Country Office (NCO) need individual consultant to provide the technical support on strengthening oxygen system for the improvement of Maternal, Neonatal and Child health (MNCH) care in selected hospitals of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces in coordination with MNH specialist, Health section, respective UNICEF Field Office teams and Government of Nepal/ relevant stakeholders.
Key purpose of consultancy includes:
- Provide technical inputs to Nepal Health Research Council in conducting the national survey on oxygen supply systems in the country
- Provide technical assistance in conducting need assessment of oxygen system for improvement of MNCH health care in 16 hospitals of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces to identify/explore gap and challenges
- Provide technical supportive supervision and onsite coaching to health service providers based on need assessment
- Provide support to hospitals for repair and maintenance of oxygen system, biomedical instrument/equipment and conduct training to health workers for rational use of oxygen and safe handling of oxygen equipment
- Provide technical support in capacity building of human resources
- Document case studies/human interest stories from the field and share with health section, UNICEF
Scope of Work:
- Provide technical assistance in conducting national survey on oxygen supply systems and need assessment of 16 hospitals of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces
- Provide support in repair/maintenance of biomedical equipment/instrument based on the need assessment and capacitate to health workers in optimum /rational use of available oxygen related equipment including safe handling
- Document case studies/Human Interest Story (HIS) from field
Duration of Contract: The total duration of the contract is for 6 months tentatively starting from 01 July 2023.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
