You have:

  • A high school diploma is required.

  • Good manual skills to handle stamps and other philatelic products is desirable.
  • Fluency in English and German is required.

  • Flexibility in working days is required.

Result of Service

Smooth function of dispatching customers’ orders, accurate franking and correct cancellation. The handling and shipping of pouches and envelopes are sent out to UNPA customers and UNPA offices in a timely manner. Successful performance of specific tasks and functions as outlined above. Expedited dispatch work and satisfied customers.

Work Location

Home-based and Vienna Headquarters.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision the Mail Operations' Supervisor and overall guidance of the Officer-in-Charge, UNPA Europe, the contractor will prepare all outgoing mails by affixing correct postage and applying correct cancellation as per established postal rules and regulations, as well as provide special cancellations as per customers’ requests. Additionally, the contractor will maintain records and accurate recording of the number and weight of all mails received for dispatch, and all outgoing mails deposited with the Austrian Post or UNOV Mailroom for dispatch. Keep and provide monthly records of the number of registered mails sent out. Provide other statistical information as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Good knowledge of postal rules and regulations is required. Good manual skills to handle stamps and other philatelic products is desirable. Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English and German is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
