UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF operations globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology, and part of the services is the development of Learning & Development material for UNICEF staff globally

How can you make a difference?

The main objective for this consultancy is to augment the capacity of the UNICEF GSSC Business Innovation & Services team as well as ICTD in Valencia to resolve and automate work items related to GSSC processes in the areas of FI, HR, and Payroll.

This will involve:

The consultant will bring expert skills in the area of SAP development in ABAP and it is expected to work under the direction of GSSC and ICTD as follows:

  1. Provide technical support to the UNICEF Global Shared Services Center (GSSC) for the ERP system (SAP – VISION) in the FI, MDM, HR and Payroll modules
  2. Software development in SAP using ABAP, WebDynpro, Smart forms and FIORI for new processes or enhancements of existing GSSC business processes currently implemented in SAP
  3. Develop O-data Services to support FIORI App development
  4. SAP PO (Process Orchestrator) development
  5. Document provided solutions as per standard established
  6. Provide training & capacity building to GSSC teams on system enhancements

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, training or certification in relevant field to SAP development
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in business process analysis, software design, and development is required.
  • Functional knowledge of SAP FI, HR and Payroll modules
  • Experience solutioning in SAP-ABAP, WorkFlow, FIORI, and using JavaScript and Win shuttle
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude

Mandatory Requirements

The candidates must include the following in their submission:

  • Motivation letter, explaining candidate’s interest in e-learning and video development.
  • Two letters of reference regarding candidate’s suitability as per the minimum qualifications and competencies.
  • CV detailing background and all relevant experience.
  • Financial Proposal indicating the hourly rate for delivery of services. The rate should be expressed in either U.S. dollars (USD), Euros (EUR) or Hungarian Forint (HUF). The offer must be all-inclusive and expressed in gross amounts. If/where applicable, the exchange rate to be used for currency conversion will be the United Nations rate of exchange.

Candidates will be subject to reference checks during the selection process.

Successful bidders will be required to accept UNICEF’s General Terms and Conditions for Service Contracts.

Location and duration

This role is flexible is to be performed remotely and in part time if required. However, the standard core working hours should be followed, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 17:30 PM with a maximum of 40 hours per week. Supervisors may require alternate (or part time) work schedules within 40 hours per week. Working schedules will be confirmed by UNICEF when requesting job assignments.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Relevant degree or training/certification in SAP
  • Relevant experience in the SAP-ABAP Development
  • Functional knowledge of FI, HR and Payroll modules in SAP
  • Relevant experience solutioning in SAP-ABAP, FIORI, JavaScript
  • Evidence of other Soft skills, i.e.: command of English, interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, working independently, high level of quality on deliverables, etc.

Candidates meeting technical requirements will be evaluated based on value for money of Financial Proposal.

Payment information

  • Billing is by project deliverable
  • Invoices are presented monthly, at the end of each month, for approval
  • Approved invoices will be submitted for payment

The terms of payment are upon receipt and approval of invoice and acceptance of work outputs. Payment will be completed by bank transfer in the currency of offer on the next payment cycle (usually within 2 weeks’ time).

Terms of employment

Consultants are required to submit a statement of good health prior to commencement of work and to take full responsibility for the accuracy of that statement.

Consultants are responsible for arranging, at their own expense, life, health, and other forms of insurance covering the period of their services on behalf of UNICEF as they consider appropriate. Consultants are not eligible to participate in the life or health insurance schemes available to United Nations staff members.

Consultants are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and contributions in accordance with local laws. UNICEF is tax exempt entity and cannot assume nor undertake any liability for taxes, duties or other contributions payable by consultants on payments made under their contract with UNICEF.
