Result of Service UN Information Centre for Nigeria (UNIC) is seeking for a Graphic Design Specialist to contribute his/her professional and creative talents to carry out visual communication projects and initiatives across several media by developing high quality materials for the SDGs campaigns workshops, dialogues, meetings with the idea to raise awareness and inspire action on Agenda 2030 and the SDGs in Nigeria and inspire change through pictures. This is part of the implementation of the global UN communication strategy at national level, working closely with the Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team in Nigeria through the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

Work Location Abuja, Nigeria

Expected duration June to December 2022

Duties and Responsibilities The Graphic Design Specialist expected to work on a full-time basis according to the workplan for the deliverables to be achieved and in the most efficient manner according to deadlines.

Responsibilities:

¿ Design themes, infographics, Layouts and covers of documents. ¿ Development of figures, including colours, fonts, graphics and layout, and resulting materials such as Newsletters, brochures, banners, posters, fliers and booklets. ¿ Creation of graphic templates to be used for reports and presentations. ¿ Preparation of printing packages (all layout and design files) for printing of publications and other communication products (brochures, annual reports, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, books, calendars, bulletins, flyers, cards) ¿ Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, web and interactive presentations. This will require the graphic designer to provide technical solutions for use of new media ¿ Create animations for illustrative purposes such as animations, presentations and more advanced solutions ¿ Maintain templates (InDesign, CorelDraw, Publisher Word, PowerPoint etc) ¿ Provide videography and photographic support to the UN Information Centre ¿ Assist in establishing and be responsible for maintaining photo and video library ¿ Any other duties as may be requested.

Promoting learning and knowledge management/sharing is the responsibility of each staff member; - Client Orientation: - Considers all those to whom services are provided to be “clients ” and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view - Keeps clients informed of progress or setbacks in projects - Meets timeline for delivery of products or services to client Skills: Good communication and presentation skills. Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to IT, fine arts, Graphic Design, certified degree in CAD (computer-aided design and drafting) software relevant to the production of maps and illustrations is preferable. Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in working at different CAD environment, mainly at Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and\or Corel Draw and good knowledge at Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Approved experience should be provided in case of non-academic background.

Portfolio of previous works: Preferably relevant to packaging, layout, mapping and reporting.

Experience working with the UN or any international NGO is added advantage Language: Fluency in spoken and written English.

Additional Information Functional Competencies - Energetic and have some experience working as radio programmes producer in Hausa and preferably should have worked for one of the top Hausa radio stations in Nigeria - Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with team members, delivering through and with others; - Ability to apply judgment in the area of job assigned , plan own work and manage conflicting priorities; - Good writing skills with attention to details as well as understanding the conceptual frameworks; - Excellent communication and reporting skills; - Strong computer skills, including word processing, presentation packages (Power Point), Internet, etc; - Strong skills in the application of communication technologies; - Ability to work in a multicultural environment and in a team. - Good English Language skills

Remuneration range: Monthly (22 working days): NGN 426,348.17 – NGN 544,528.25 depending on qualifications and work experience (USD1,1,028 – USD1,312)
