End-of-the year is always a busy period in Human Resources. This year that is compounded by the transition into a new country programme which entails the abolishment of a number of positions while concurrently recruiting for newly created and vacant posts. The CO is also embarking on a change management process that HR is facilitating. This is happening at a time when the HR Manager is about to be reassigned to another office and a replacement is not expected until in 2021. Moreover also the Deputy Representative for Operations is on his way out. This leaves the HR team short-staffed at a time which is anticipated to be particularly busy. To support the team and manage the expectations, the team wishes to engage an individual contractor as short-term support.

The contractor is mainly responsible for supporting efficient and compliant recruitment.

Purpose of Assignment:

Under the supervision of HR Officer, the Contractor is expected to undertake the following major tasks-

Recruitment

  • Support HR Officer to manage the recruitment inbox/portal for all vacancies and respond to queries and applications
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies and organise the advertising of roles internally and externally
  • Support testing and interviewing arrangements including but not limited to invitation to candidates, interview logistics arrangement and relevant paperwork preparation.
  • Provide support for new staff induction and orientation.
  • Support the programme sections in their annual workforce planning/recruitment plan mapping and information compiling.

Others

  • Logistic Support in-house learning activities
  • Support the year-end annual performance review related information sharing and data collection
  • Backup the other HR Assistant when necessary.

- Minimum Academic Qualifications required and disciplines:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR management, business administration or related area.

- Knowledge/Experience/Expertise/Skills required:

Work effectively with a diverse range of people

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills.
  • Good learning spirit and proactive working manner.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.$1
  • Relevant HR or admin support experience of 1 year and above
  • Experience of working in a non-profit organization environment is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Good command of English and Chinese
