Result of Service Deliverables the contractor is expected to complete by the end of the three-month assignment are:

(1) Analytical reports, papers and talking points as needed to comply with UN senior leadership requests to the Board (2) Minutes of Board meetings, events, and other engagements with key stakeholders (3) Roadmap to deliver on the Secretary-General’s vision for the Board after first meeting (4) Terms of Reference for Secretariat staff.

Work Location Remote/Home-based

Expected duration 3 months (part-time)

Duties and Responsibilities Analysis and Communications: - Support the follow up to the first Board meeting and subsequent communications and follow-up actions. - Support in setting priorities to deliver on the Secretary-General’s vision for the Board outlined during the first meeting. - Support the setup of the Board’s permanent Secretariat, including through drafting Terms of Reference for the Secretariat’s staff and support resource mobilization efforts. - Support the preparation of analytical reports, papers, talking points and correspondences as needed for the Board to fulfil its first tasks as requested by the UN senior leadership. - Support the outreach and engagement of experts and networks to ensure their efficient collaboration with the Board.

Coordination and Executive Support: - Support the preparation of meetings, conferences, and retreats, as required. - Support the preparation of background and option papers in support of Board activities. - Support the tracking and analysis of Board action points and their implementation. - Assist in the preparation of speeches and talking points, as required. - Assist with any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications/special skills Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as science, technology, public policy, or international relations. At least 2 years of experience in management consulting, policy development, and leadership support is required. Excellent presentation design skills and experience in analyzing data to support decision-making is desirable. Experience in cultivating and maintaining relationships to non-profits and donors and ability to review and evaluate scientific papers and studies is desirable. Knowledge of emerging issues and global trends, and associated risks and opportunities is desirable. Experience in working in Adobe InDesign or Canva is desirable.

Languages Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
