Individual Contractor for Gender Needs Assessment
Result of Service Outputs and deliverables Over a period of: 3 months (45 working days) - One methodology report defining the criteria for the selection of the representative sample of National Centers and the overall survey methodology and approach; - One needs assessment survey ; - One consolidated database including the cleaned data from the survey; - One outcome report including stakeholder analysis and needs assessment; - One powerpoint presentation including graphic representations from the survey outputs as well as critical analysis

Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall supervision of the UNOCT Gender Advisor , the individual contractor will develop and implement a survey which will assess the gender needs of National Centers for Counter-Terrorism as related to their 1. Overall functions; 2. Current understanding of how gender relates, impacts and is impacted by the agencies’ work; 3. Current efforts in gender mainstreaming; 4. Perceived gaps and opportunities in gender mainstreaming. The individual contractor will develop outputs related to the survey, namely a Gender Needs Assessment Outcome Report, where they will present a stakeholder analysis of the National Centers, as well a list of the Centers’ 1. Felt; 2. Expressed; 3. Normative; and 4. Comparative needs as related to mainstreaming gender in their work.
Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Advanced University Degree (Masters or equivalent) in gender studies, international human rights law, Counter-terrorism or in a related area. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of previous engagement with government agencies, civil society organizations, peacebuilders, academic and research institutions, international organizations, women’s organizations, and women peacebuilders desired. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working level knowledge of other UN working languages is an asset.
