Result of Service The CDPMO website is successfully migrated from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9. The consultant will also build Drupal 9 theme that aligns with the DGC guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities The Capacity Development Programme Management Office (CDPMO) supports DESA’s divisions with strategic and management support for efficient and effective delivery of its capacity development work. It has a public website at https://www.un.org/development/desa/cdpmo/. The website is built in Drupal 8 and includes various custom modules for visualization, form submissions and faceted search. As Drupal 8 is no longer officially supported, the website needs to be upgraded to Drupal 9.

In this context, CDPMO requires the services of an individual contractor to conduct the migration of modules, workflow and content from existing platforms to Drupal 9.

In close collaboration with the substantive offices at DESA/CDPMO, the individual contractor will perform the following duties:

1. Drupal 9 theme: Build a Drupal 9 theme that aligns with the UN standard following the guidelines at https://www.un.org/en/webguidelines/ and using current CDPMO website as a reference. This Drupal 9 theme should be fully functional for static web website and meet both DGC style guidelines and OICT security guidelines. Provide a link to the mock website so the staff members in the division can conduct a user acceptance test. 2. Upgrade to Drupal 9: Migrate the existing CDPMO website from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9. This requires ensuring all the Drupal official modules are updated to the latest version. Modify and update custom Drupal modules as required to upgrade the site to Drupal 9. 3. Maintenance and Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of the website, which may include fixing issues/bugs reported by the users and making minor enhancements on forms and database as needed. Assist substantive team in migrating contents from old website to Drupal website. Ensure that the website passes OICT security test in the development server once the user acceptance test has been completed. 4. Visuals and Design changes: Update minor design and layout changes including adding new graphics and visuals if needed 5. Training: Conduct user training to relevant staff members of the divisions on how to manage the Drupal 9 site as system administrators and site editors. Draft a short how-to-guide manual, detailing the steps of updating and managing the website to ensure continuity following the conclusion of the assignment. 6. Any other tasks, as required.

Qualifications/special skills First-level degree in information systems, computer science, communications, design, digital media or related field is required. At least three years of professional experience professional experience in the field of information technology or related area, in designing and developing web pages, SQL databases and application/database server maintenance is required. Extensive professional experience in developing websites specifically Drupal websites, developing Drupal modules, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript skills is required. Demonstrable expertise in git and git-based workflows is desirable. Experience working with an international organization is preferred, previous experience with the UN is preferred.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.

Additional Information The individual contractor will work up to a total of 45 working days during the period between 15 October to 31 December 2022.
