In light of the the multiple emergencies UNICEF Lebanon is facing (Beirut Blast, Economic and COVID) linked with the annual year-end reporting requirements, the emergency related reporting workload has increased significantly. Hence, a temporary support is sought for the reporting section who will coordinate and quality-assure both regular and special informational reporting on various UNICEF Lebanon related emergency responses.

How can you make a difference?

Tasks

• Systematically screen and cross-check internal and external reports, sitreps, information and communication material for accuracy and consistency. • Develop and coordinate daily and regular highlights for internal distribution • Maintain and regularly update a Strategic Issues analysis for the Representation and Deputy Representative. • Coordinate the review/collating of CO Sitreps and preparation of the Regional Sitrep • Prepare and systematically update information material (Fact Sheets, FAQs, backgrounders, data tables), briefings, and presentations on the situation, in coordination with the Global Emergency Coordinator/RDs office, the OPSCEN Specialist, the Planning team and the Communications Chief. • Prepare programmatic presentations, memos, and briefings to be used by the GEC/RD or their spokespersons at internal and external briefings. • Maintain essential contacts with reports writers and/or information managers at UNICEF COs to facilitate timely and accurate information flow. • Support information gathering and information flow across sections and programmes in the Regional Office.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced university degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with either the UN and/or NGO in Emergency and/or Early Reconstruction settings.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Only applications with all inclusive fee proposals (daily fee in USD) will be considered.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
