Under the supervision of the CSD Manager, the consultant will support in ensuring good health and wellbeing through the outlined activities.

Activities and Tasks:

Assist the CSD Manager and international consultant to compile the Cold Chain Equipment (CCE) Inventory dataset

Organize the CCE data by districts and group the district templates by Regions

Identify and highlight the gaps and missing information in the dataset

Support data cleaning and compilation for CCE/EVM assessments and improvements plans

Organize the database for other relevant CSD projects for advocacy packages development

Contribute to country programmes by supporting knowledge management through providing professional assistance in data collection and analysis, complete and accurate reporting as well as participation in the Programme Knowledge Network system of "lessons learned" and other corporate-level databases.

Participate in information exchange with partners as well as provide technical support for different capacity building events.

Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Work relationships: Based within the UNICEF Sri Lanka CSD section, the individual contractor will report into the CSD Manager and will work closely with the H&N Officer, and CSD Programme Associate.

The individual contractor is also expected to work in collaboration with UNICEF’s Operations team who support all operations related to the programme. As required, the consultant will also work in coordination with the County Offices relevant programme sections, health/immunization personnel in other Country Offices and Regional Offices, and also external partners with relation to EPI/COVAX facility.

Deliverables

• Work plan to be submitted on the first working day of every month during the contract period;

• Monthly Report on the implementation of the Work plan to be submitted on the last UNICEF working day of each month during the contract period, accompanied by deliverables produced during the month

Duration of the consultancy: 10 months – full time

Start date: 01 March 2021

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Health Sciences, International Development, Social Sciences, Health Informatics or related fields
  2. Specialist skills/Training:
  • Experience managing (cleaning, entering, aggregating and generating reports from) data using database platforms;
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, and data processing
  • Experience with or exposure to public health would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of online, open-source data collection tools and approaches and or database environment and/or project management software will be an added advantage
  1. Years of experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in management and utilization of program data

    Languages required: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language (Sinhalese or Tamil) is considered an asset
