Result of Service The ultimate result of services is creating a powerful and impactful art exhibition, showcasing the art submitted by different embassies that are curated together with the narrative of one world, one humanity, on the occasion of UN Day 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall supervision of the National Public Information Officer, UNIC Tehran, the IC’s duties are as follows: - The art exhibition curation consultant will support the activities of UNIC/RCO in the preparation and successful coordination of the art exhibition. She/he will design/curate the space, support the execution and facilitate the entire exhibition – including the opening ceremony. - Submit – through a brief presentation – a general concept/plan and methodologies designed for holding the exhibition; at the onset of the contract and following consultation with UNIC. - In collaboration with the UN team, determine a theme and title for the exhibition, including the narrative that brings the exhibition together. - In collaboration with supervising UNIC staff, curate the final selection of works to be exhibited in October 2023. - Maintain contact with designated focal points at embassies for the packaging and delivery of art works (before and after the exhibition) to the display location/venue. Initial contact will be made by UNIC. - Oversee and guide the production of the exhibition catalogue. - In addition to formal outreach to artists and the cultural community, conduct one-on-one outreach to artists within personal network to encourage and secure participation at the highest level. - Where relevant and possible, develop and establish partnerships to reduce costs (for example e.g., with a gallery and a publishing house). - In coordination with UNIC staff, design an interactive opening ceremony, and liaise with external vendors to secure services required for the opening event, including but not limited to translation services, entertainment, food and light beverages. - Submit the final report (English) to UNIC including observations and recommendations within one week after the completion of the assignment.

Qualifications/special skills - First-level university degree in arts, exhibition management or project management or equivalent. - A minimum of 3 years of experience in cultural/art/research/project management work or related field is required. - Portfolio of curated exhibition work. - Track record of event/exhibition management or equivalent professional experience.

Languages Fluency in written and spoken English and Farsi is required.
