UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) has ambitious goals to deliver on income and influence.

The Supporter Content Team in the Marketing and PR Section at UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnership (PFP) division seeks the services of an experienced, creative and skilled, multi-talented videographer (with an emphasis on post-production) to support on a variety of content production needs. This includes supporting the production of content (mainly video) for: Virtual Donor Experiences (online television-like productions aimed at engaging UNICEF’s private sector donors); engagement content relating to UNICEF’s private sector partnerships; and emergency response content relating for sudden-onset emergencies and other high-profile emergencies, as well as other requirements as needed.

The Videographer will be a key member of the Supporter Content Team and will work closely with relevant stakeholders in PFP to produce content that will engage potential and current UNICEF supporters.

How can you make a difference?

The purpose of the role is to provide high quality, compelling video content for the Supporter Content Team with a special focus on content for Virtual Donor Experiences, engagement content for UNICEF’s private sector partnerships, and emergencies. This includes a full scope of audio-visual storytelling: contributing to creative conceptualization, scriptwriting, filming (as needed), video editing and basic motion graphics.

MAIN TASKS

Reporting to the Communications Manager of the Supporter Content team, the videographer will be required to undertake the following areas of work:

  1. Video production support for Virtual Donor Experiences (VDEs): VDEs are live, interactive, and compelling virtual events where we use digital technologies to bring to life the work UNICEF is doing in emergency and non-emergency contexts. They allow supporters to connect directly with experts and UNICEF staff in the field. The videographer will support the compilation, editing and package a variety of (mainly) video assets for the VDEs.
  2. Produce content for key UNICEF private sector partners: the videographer will support the production of engagement content (mainly video) relating to the work UNICEF does with its partners including support for field productions as needed, video editing, customizing content, packaging content.
  3. High profile and sudden onset emergency content production as needed to drive fundraising efforts: producing content (mainly video) relating to UNICEF’s emergency response for COVID-19 and other emergencies.

DELIVERABLES

  1. Video production support for Virtual Donor Experiences (VDEs): Under the guidance of the Producer, the videographer will support the production of content for PFP’s virtual donor experiences by producing:
  • broll, human interest stories, photo loops, animations, and other assets for the VDEs
  • package material in versions and support with acquiring assets to UNICEF digital asset management platform
  • support with other content production requirements for the VDEs
  • acquire content packages to UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager, WeShare, with all associated metadata such as shotlists, scripts and transcripts, as needed
  1. Produce content for key UNICEF private sector partners: working closely with the content coordinator for partnerships, the comms for partnership team, the VDE producer, and the communications manager for the supporter content team and other stakeholders, the videographer will support:
  • the creative conceptualization and scripting of content for UNICEF’s private sector partnerships
  • Film as needed or support the film shoots through technical briefing notes, remote direction etc
  • Video editing of repurposed or new video assets for UNICEF’s key partnerships
  • acquire content packages to UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager, WeShare, with all associated metadata such as shotlists, scripts and transcripts, as needed
  1. Sudden onset emergencies and high-profile emergency content production as needed: working closely with the Emergencies Content Team Lead, and members of the emergency content team, and other stakeholders, the videographer will work closely to support the production of videos and other assets as needed:
  • contributing to creative content development
  • contributing to briefs, remote direction as needed
  • edit broll with accompanying script and shotlists and metadata for
  • edit human interest stories, explainer videos
  • film and edit (only as needed) interviews, human interest stories as needed
  • acquire content packages to UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager, WeShare, with all associated metadata such as shotlists, scripts and transcripts, as needed

WORKPLACE

To be home based (preferably following Central European Time) with occasional travel to UNICEF PFP in Geneva and or elsewhere as needed. The travel will be agreed with the supervisor in advance and be paid by UNICEF.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • A first level university degree in one of the following fields is required: Marketing, Communications, the Humanities, journalism, or another relevant technical field.
  • Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a videographer (filming, editing, motion graphics) is required.
  • Experience of producing video content for digital / online events is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects is desirable.
  • Experience producing video content for news broadcasters or other high-pressure environments is desirable.
  • Experience scriptwriting is an asset.
  • Experience in animation is an asset.
  • Experience in project management is an asset.
  • Experience in working with creative teams or agencies and sound understanding of the creative process is an asset.
  • Experience in the NGO sector/ for UNICEF and/or UN is an asset.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language an asset.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
