- Five (5) years of professional experience in disaster management is required.
- Experience in implementing projects by the United Nations is preferred.
- Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.

• Training relevant information timely disseminated • All core materials accurately translated into Russian with consistent technical terminology. • A comprehensive report documenting the training proceedings is timely prepared • Report consolidated in both English and Russian, alignment and coherence ensured across language sections. • Addition information added to the report: Detailed descriptions of all training sessions; Collected participant feedback; Summaries of key discussions held during the training; Actionable recommendations for future activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of UN-SPIDER and in close collaboration with ESCAP/APCICT, CAIAG, and other partner organizations, the Individual contractor will: I. Coordinate Capacity-Building Sessions and Meetings a) Coordinate schedules and logistics for presenters, experts, and participants, ensuring smooth communication and timely dissemination of relevant information. b) Serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries, updates, and feedback related to the training sessions and project implementation meetings. II. Translate Training Materials into Russian a) Translate all relevant training documents—including lecture materials, user guides, and reference resources—from English into Russian, ensuring technical accuracy and context sensitivity. b) Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate translated content and confirm that specialized terminology (e.g., GIS-based risk assessment, vulnerability, exposure) is clearly communicated. III. Prepare Bilingual Reports on Training Outcomes a) Document the proceedings, key discussions, and recommendations from the training sessions and related meetings. b) Compile participant feedback, questions, and suggestions for future capacity-building initiatives. c) Finalize a comprehensive report in both English and Russian, ensuring clarity, coherence, and technical precision. IV. Prepare Localized Data for RiskChanges Configuration a) Identify and gather locally relevant spatial datasets (e.g., hazard layers, exposure data, vulnerability indicators) required for hands-on training exercises. b) Clean, validate, and format the data to align with the requirements of the RiskChanges platform. c) Collaborate with training facilitators to integrate localized data sets into practical sessions, enabling participants to simulate real-world multi-hazard risk scenarios. V. Support Follow-up Actions and Knowledge Sharing a) Provide post-training support to participants who require additional guidance in applying RiskChanges or interpreting risk assessment results. b) Contribute to knowledge-sharing activities, including the preparation of FAQs, lessons learned, and good practices for broader dissemination within and partner networks.
Qualifications/special skills
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. • Five (5) years of professional experience and technical experience in the field of disaster management, including a track record of conducting various types of disaster management projects at the international level. • Experience in the implementation of the project by the United Nations is preferred.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
