Overview

Support UNICEF's marketing initiatives for Individual Giving and enhance supporter engagement.

You have:

  • An advanced university degree in Marketing, Communications, Non-profit Management, or another relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is required (advertising and marketing agency experience is desirable).
  • Hands-on campaigning and loyalty marketing experience within a global organization is desirable.
  • Experienced and current in digital engagement channels and working knowledge of CRM (Salesforce specific experience would be desirable).
  • Proven ability to shape marketing campaigns from initial strategy to implementation and post-launch optimization.
  • Experience training and capacity building teams is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language or local language of the duty station is considered an asset.

UNICEF has embarked on its largest ever interdivisional initiative, Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES). SES is a CRM program to roll out Salesforce, ensuring the deployment enables UNICEF to better communicate and engage supporters to increase donations, advocacy and volunteering.

Individual Giving is one of UNICEF’s most critical sources of revenue, producing unrestricted income across the world to support UNICEF’s programs. The team in PFP focuses on supporting countries to grow their individual giving revenue, with this role focusing on support and advice to ensure marketing best practice is used to support that growth.

How can you make a difference?

Support the progression of marketing best practices as part of the wider IG function. Provide support for markets delivering campaigns that deploy SES (including in HQ) and enable cross-functional teams to realize fundraising goals.

MAIN TASKS

  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop holistic marketing approaches that deliver for acquisition, retention and engagement metrics.
  • Support the planning and delivery of an integrated marketing campaigns with corporate partners as defined by the Marketing Manager.
  • Work with Global Campaigns teams to ensure consideration and support of individual giving objectives, and the development of a plan that is consistent with IG best practice.
  • Partner with markets to define how Salesforce can support the delivery of marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with identified markets to develop a more functional approach to marketing where Salesforce is not yet installed.
  • Provide training and consultancy for key markets on embedding marketing practice.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to provide IG Marketing support on organizational priorities as required e.g. COVAX.
  • Act as the liaison across IG for Marketing led initiatives under the banner of SES.
  • Act as the liaison across existing market support teams and market knowledge teams to advance integrated support for SES enabled countries.

DELIVERABLES

  • Ensure agreed marketing deliverables for pilot markets are delivered on schedule and budget, and/or escalated where appropriate.
  • Assist with the mapping of CORE functionality by reviewing and providing feedback on user stories as it relates to marketing functionality within the time frames agreed by the project team.
  • As part of the SES team, implement training sessions for Marketing Cloud in Thailand and Colombia that are well received by the markets, demonstrate an understanding of the challenges of adopting Marketing Cloud and are reported to be enabling of their use of Marketing Cloud.
  • Provide clear positions for IG on how to maximize donor-centric acquisition and retention activities within global campaigns, supporting IG to understand how well suited campaigns are to activation and defining actions needed to support IG outcomes.
  • Project manage the implementation of IG marketing strategy projects ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget and timings. This will include supporting the development of marketing strategy for COVAX but additional projects will be assigned during the period of the contract.
  • Managing agencies and suppliers to support the delivery of key marketing projects, ensuring feedback is given in a timely and enabling fashion to improve the output.
  • Work closely with the retention, email and content specialist teams to feed into wider section donor retention strategies, showing evidence that marketing expertise is valued and utilized in these areas
