ADVERT: Individual Contract (Maldivian National) Videographer/Digital Animation artist to develop short videos and animations to support public engagement efforts to prevent spread of COVID-19.

Background & Purpose:

Given the unfolding socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 on the life of Maldivian families and children, UNICEF is keen to support the national partners with the mitigation of these effects and to ensure the sustainability of the developmental gains Maldives achieved over the years.

UNICEF in collaboration with the Health Protection Agency is working together to produce visual materials meant for broadcast and social media to support ongoing public engagement efforts to reduce the community spread of COVID-19.

Objective to which the consultancy is related:

The objective of the consultancy is to support the Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) team at HEOC to produce video clips and short digital animation messages to create public awareness and to promote the required life-saving behaviours.

Duty station: UNICEF Maldives Country Office, Male'.

Major Tasks to be accomplished:

Activities:

Produce video clips and short digital animation messages

Details:

Video clips:

  • From press events held.
  • On important messages/guidance to the public from officials at HEOC,
  • Other public engagement activities conducted by HEOC.
  • Video clips need to be shot on consultant's own camera equipment and final edited product delivered as per specifications provided.

Animations:

  • On key data from press events held.
  • On Important messages/guidance to the public.
  • Other public engagement activities conducted by HEOC.
  • Digital animations need to be created using consultant's own computer equipment and final produced delivered as per specifications provided.

Deliverables:

Video clips and animations:

1-2 minutes in length.

Quantity: 30 (to be divided among video clips and animations).

Platform: broadcast and social media.

Estimated duration of contract: Duration: 45 working days (between August and October 2020)

Qualifications or specialized knowledge and/or experience required

  • Relevant experience in the field of audio-visual and digital animation production, for at least 3 years (Business registration and 3 references).
  • Have the ability to work under pressure, open to input/scrutiny and changes required to be made, respect for national developmental/cultural contexts and deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with UN agencies and International Organizations would be desirable. Â

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
