Overview

Support medical equipment planning and procurement for Karantina Hospital.

You have:

• Advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in Biomedical sciences/engineering.
• Experience in biomedical electrical engineering required.
• Experience in biomedical mechanical engineering required.
• Demonstrated experience in similar projects essential.
• Experience in public hospitals is an asset.

To render the new Karantina Hospital building operational and functioning, UNICEF is hiring a Medical Equipment Planning consultant to set the technical specifications of the needed medical and surgical equipment, complete an inventory of already donated equipment and evaluate the medical procurement activities, as well as assist with the installation of these medical equipment.

How can you make a difference?

This consultancy will support with the Medical Equipment Planning, Procurement, and Implementation at Quarantina Hospital through the achievement of the following expected results:

• Determine the type of medical equipment technology intended to be used to meet the hospital requirements.
• Establish schedules with technical specifications of all fittings, furniture, and equipment.
• Develop budget information of all agreed fittings, furniture, and equipment.
• Review inventory of donated fittings, furniture, and equipment and verify their compliance with the needs of the Hospital.
• Assist with the planning for any fittings, furniture, and equipment that need to be relocated from the existing facility to the new building.
• Assist with the installation of the medical equipment.

Timely completion is essential:

- First phase: Submission of a medical equipment technology report detailing the types, specifications and complexity of the medical equipment technology recommended to meet the hospital’s current and future requirements, with a none-detailed schedule of the medical equipment.

Duration: 10 working days.

-Second phase: Upon UNICEF’s approval on the initial report, the consultant shall submit the rest of the deliverables along with any other none-mentioned document needed for the success of the procurement and implementation of the fittings, furniture, and equipment for Quarantina Hospital.

Duration: 20 working days.

- Third phase: Implementation phase.

The consultant shall visit the site twice per week or as requested by UNICEF to monitor and support the implementation.

Duration: 3 months.

Tasks/Milestone 6: Specification of service connections required for the equipment per room.

Tasks/Milestone 7: Demonstration of the equipment in each room with all service outlets (power, data, gas, ventilation, drainage…).

Tasks/Milestone 8: Specifications of all fittings, furniture, and equipment needed for the hospital and based on the updated construction plans, briefs, and all available technical documents.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Biomedical sciences/engineering.

The assignment requires a minimum of the following qualifications and experiences from the company:

B- The consultant should have capacity in:

- Biomedical electrical engineering

- Biomedical mechanical engineering

- Hospital biomedical capacity

C- A demonstrated experience in other similar projects.

D- Similar experience at a public hospital would be an asset.

Prospective consultant should submit a technical proposal which comprises of their background, experience and the range of services offered by the company.

It should also include a portfolio with links to previous work done. The portfolio should demonstrate a mastery of the medical equipment planning process. A complete CV should be included.

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
