You have:
- Advanced university degree or equivalent experience in Social Science, Statistics, Communications, Marketing, Data Science and/or Knowledge management.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in SBC and/or social media monitoring and analysis and/or digital listening.
- Experience in the design and implementation of interventions on rumor management/misinformation.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (verbal and written).
- Excellent writing skills planning and coordination skills, with proven ability to work independently.

Major duties and responsibilities
- Setup and implement the UNICEF offline and online and social media monitoring and rumor management system in close coordination with MISAU social listening WG and RO initiatives and produce monthly reports and analysis of info collected with the social listening exercise.
- Design and coordinate the implementation of evidence-base social media campaign to support SBC interventions and produce systematic reports on SBC social media campaigns.
- Coordinate the existing Internet of Good Things (IoGT) platform with ACP team to promote SBC contents and raise evidence through specific polls. Produce monthly systematic reports and the reach and engagement of IoGT users.
- In support to the SBC officer leading the SMS Biz platform, design SMS Biz polls to collect evidence to design and adjust SBC interventions.
- Synchronize and use content across various UNICEF platforms such as the Internet of Good Things (IoGT), U-Report, social media and other UNICEF supported digital tools or platforms for effective message dissemination.
- Systematize insights and findings across various UNICEF platforms such as the Internet of Good Things (IoGT), U-Report, social media and contribute to produce evidence to design and adjust SBC interventions.
- Disseminate results of impact achieved and findings collected across various UNICEF digital platforms with UNICEF programmes and relevant government institutions and partners.
Key expected Results
Output 1. Setup and implement the UNICEF offline and online and social media monitoring and rumour management system in close coordination with MISAU social listening WG and RO initiatives and produce monthly reports and analysis of info collected with the social listening exercise.
- UNICEF Mozambique social listening system set up and implemented integrating offline and online data sources;
- Consistent and active collaboration with MISUA social listening WG effectively functioning;
- Monthly reports with analysis of content and trends produced to guide SBC interventions.
Output 2: Design and coordinate the implementation of evidence-base social media campaign to support SBC interventions and produce systematic reports on SBC social media campaigns.
- In coordination with the SBC team, SBC social media campaigns are planned on annual basis;
- In close collaboration with social media focal point, products are designed and SBC social media campaign are organized and conducted;
- Reports on results of SBC social media campaigns produced.
Output 3: Coordinate the IoGT platform to promote SBC contents and raise evidence through specific polls. Produce monthly systematic reports and the reach and engagement of IoGT users.
- In collaboration with the SBC team, messages and products are design and promoted through IoGT platform;
- In collaboration with the SBC team, polls are designed and conducted using IoGT platform;
- Monthly reports with analysis of content and trends produced to guide SBC interventions.
Output 4: In support to the SBC officer leading the SMS Biz platform, design SMS Biz polls to collect evidence to design and adjust SBC interventions.
- In collaboration with the SBC team and the SMSBiz focal point, polls are designed and conducted;
- SMSBiz polls results are collected, systematize and disseminated accordingly.
Output 5: Synchronize and use content across various UNICEF platforms such as the Internet of Good Things (IoGT), U-Report, social media and other UNICEF supported digital tools or platforms for effective message dissemination.
- In coordination with the SBC team, topic of intervention, messages and products designed and disseminated according to a plan;
- Specific SBC campaigns supported by digital media.
Output 6: Systematize insights and findings across various UNICEF platforms such as the Internet of Good Things (IoGT), U-Report, social media and contribute to produce evidence to design and adjust SBC interventions.
- Reports and finding coming from various digital platforms monthly systematized in reports helpful to design and adjust SBC interventions.
Output 7: Disseminate results of impact achieved and findings collected across various UNICEF digital platforms with UNICEF programmes and relevant government institutions and partners.
- Reports on achievements and findings collected across UNICEF digital platforms properly disseminated in coordination with the SBC team.

Education
Advanced university degree or equivalent experience in Social Science, Statistics, Communications, Marketing, Data Science and/or Knowledge management. Training in one of these several Social Media and/or Data Science technical competencies: Social media management, Digital monitoring, Business Analytics.
*A first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with seven years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of proven experience in SBC and/or social media monitoring and analysis and/or digital listening
- Experience in the design and implementation of interventions on rumor management/misinformation
- Excellent writing skills planning and coordination skills, with proven ability to work independently.
- Previous work with UNICEF (HQ or ROs) is an added advantage.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (verbal and written).

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
