Objectives of the programme:

  • To obtain and monitor epidemiology and virology information of influenza and COVID-19
  • To conduct review meeting and refresher training for SARI/ ILI sentinel surveillance

Summary of assigned duties:

Under direction and supervision of sub directorate Acute Respiratory Infection MoH, the data assistants will be tasked to:

  • Coordinate with MoH and WHO to prepare documents, invitation letters and coordinate with resource person and compile materials and obtain confirmation of sentinel sites participations in the review meeting and refresher training. The review meeting will be conducted through VC.
  • Coordinate with MoH and WHO to prepare invitation letters and obtain participant confirmation for the technical meetings and prepare meeting notes and report.
  • Support MoH to liaise with ILI and SARI sentinel surveillance to submit ILI/ SARI weekly report, conduct verification, data cleaning, compilation and ensure timeliness and completeness of weekly report submission to Flu ID and Flu Net as well as monitor specimen shipment from sentinel to public health laboratory and National Influenza Centre.
  • Liaise with Health Policy Agency MoH to obtain virology data (laboratory testing result of influenza and COVID-19 form sentinel sites) and ensure timeliness and completeness of the weekly report submission to Flu ID and Flu Net and obtain WGS COVID-19 data from sentinel surveillance for further data analysis.
  • Conduct data analysis of ILI/SARI sentinel surveillance data and develop bulletin.
  • Disseminate ILI/SARI bulletin to sentinel surveillance sites and relevant stakeholders.

Qualification requirements

Education Qualifications:

Essential: A first degree in public health focusing on epidemiology or biostatistics

Desirable:

  • A Master’s degree in public health focusing on epidemiology or biostatistics
  • Training on data management

Experience:

Essential: At least two years of professional work experience in the data entry and analysis

Desirable:

  • At least four years’ experience working with the Ministry of Health or provincial or district health office
  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organization

Functional Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of data entry, data analysis and producing reports

Computer literacy: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, and other data management tools.

SSA ILI SARI Data Assistant, Level 3.

Between IDR 10,315,873 to IDR 16,046,873 (in accordance with WHO Salary Scale for SSA).
