This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

The online volunteers will be asked to mainly search online for examples of new models of partnerships between volunteers and decision makers using some criteria and themes like social innovation, deliberative governance, co-production of services. The examples will have to be from the Pacific Islands. The online volunteers will be asked to compile these examples and add to the consolidated table. This will then be used for planning discussions, dialogues and regional launch of the State of the World Volunteerism Report that UNV is working on under the theme "Volunteering as Social Contract".

UNV is working on the State of the World's Volunteerism Report (SWVR) 2021 under the theme "Volunteerism in the 21st Century Social Contract". In light of the COVID-19 pandemic the SWVR will explore emerging models of volunteering, particularly those that provide opportunities for collaboration across society, and how these impacts the evolving roles and relationships of governments and people in the face of 21st century needs. The report seeks to generate much-needed evidence to further understand how emerging volunteer models could better contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. Making new models of volunteering visible will provide insights into how social contracts for the ‘new era’ could fundamentally reorient approaches to people’s engagement and how volunteering could be central to achieving the SDGs moving forward. So this particular project will look into examples, evidence and relevant partners that would be great to continue dialogue and expose their partnership models to wider audience and to the world. The objective will be to build internal database of such examples and partners and invite for dialogues, discussions and documenting case studies.
