This is a LICA-7 contract. This kind of contract is known as Local Individual Contractor Agreements. It is normally only for nationals. It's an external contract. It usually requires 7 years of experience, depending on education. More about LICA-7 contracts.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Support Services, and technical guidance of the ICT Regional Advisor and colleagues in HQ, the ICT Senior Associate is responsible for efficient and effective ICT management and support to the operations in a given geography. In the discharge of her/his duties, the ICT Senior Associate liaises with UNOPS programme support colleagues, in order to ensure best support.

The ICT Senior Associate will coordinate and implement the provision of ICT services and practices in the UNOPS Panama office, so as to support as back-up for other centres of the Multi-Country Office.

ICT client services, management and administration - Ensures efficient and effective ICT client services, management and administration, focusing on achievement of the following results: - Implementation of ICT and operational strategies compliant with UNOPS rules, regulations, policies and framework.

Network administration - Ensure efficient network administration, focusing on achievement of the following results: - Maintenance of network and internet connectivity to ensure stable operation, availability of bandwidth, and reliable connection to the internet and HQ based systems.

Team Management - Facilitates the engagement and provision of high quality results and services of the team supervised through effective work planning, performance management, coaching, and promotion of learning and development.

Knowledge building and knowledge sharing - Training and guidance to users in efficient and secure use of ICT systems and services

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education - High School Diploma is required. - Diploma or University Degree, preferably in information sciences, computer sciences or engineering, is desirable and may substitute some years of required relevant experience.

Experience - A minimum of 7 years (or less according to Degree level) of progressively support experience in the field of information technology and/or telecommunications and systems, preferably in an international environment. - Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office 2010 and/or newer versions).

Desired:

  • Experience in GSuite
  • Experience in coordinating/implementing ICT Projects
  • Experience in facilitating training.

  • Experience in management of Active Directory, Windows servers, and network infrastructure.

  • Previous experience in UN System or public sector will be an asset.

Language - Full working knowledge of English, and Spanish. - Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset.

Contract type: Individual Contractor Agreement

Contract level: LICA 7 The vacancy is open to national candidates in Panama.

Contract duration: Ongoing ICA – ‘Open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.’
