Overview

New York Service Cluster (NYSC) supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as other New York-based United Nations organizations, bilateral and multilateral partners in the delivery of UNOPS mandate in project management, infrastructure management, and procurement management.

Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC) supports diverse partners with their peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development operations. It was formed by combining the following portfolios: Grants Management Services (GMS), UN Technology Support Services (UNTSS), Development and Special Initiatives Portfolio (DSIP) It provides Services to partners' programmes that are designed, structured, and managed with a global perspective and primarily serving partners that are headquartered in New York. In May 2015, the DFS Supply Chain Management (SCM) Vision and Strategy was formally approved by the USG DFS. The Office of Supply Chain Management covers a wide scope of services including supply chain planning and performance management, logistical support, procurement, vendor management and supplier diversity, aviation safety, and uniformed capabilities support. Functional Responsibilities

This position supports the Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM), Department of Operational Support (DOS) within the MDM team. The incumbent of this position will be a personnel of UNOPS under its full responsibility. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the ICT Senior Analyst – ICT Project Management will perform the following duties:

  • Provide research and project implementation support related to ERP solutions in support of supply chain processes.
  • Maintain, upgrade, or enhance existing user systems; troubleshoots and provides continuing user support, to include resolving difficult problems, advising on the use of new techniques, monitoring indicators for new trends to measure performance and continued effectiveness of assigned systems
  • Evaluate business processes and requirements.
  • Provide business analysis to ongoing initiatives.
  • Produce required project documentation including Business Case(s), Project Plan(s), Project Initiation Document(s), As-Is and To-Be Process Flows, Key Decision Document(s), and Product Definition Document(s).
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce reports.
  • Work closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff.
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Update, implement and maintain procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
  • Manage competing resources and priorities.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Draft and coordinate inputs to logistics and supply chain reports, presentations, briefing notes, and other information documents required by senior management

a. Education

  • Master’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, Social Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • First level University degree with two additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of the advanced university degree.

b. Work Experience and skills

Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in Business Analysis, Project Management and/or Business Administration is required.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a global setting, coordinating activities across time zones.
  • Experience in UN reporting tools.
  • Willingness to learn innovative technologies and maintain industry knowledge
