How can you make a difference?

The GSSC is looking for an individual who has knowledge in Data Operations and Analytics that would enhance the capacity and skill set of the Business Innovation Team focusing specifically on Data Operations and Analytics activities and will provide crucial support to the local Data Warehouse.

Summary of Key functions/accountabilities:

  1. SQL Procedure Development and Maintenance
  2. Database Structure Maintenance and Creation
  3. Database System Design
  4. Scripting for Data Extraction, Movement and Loading
  5. Documentation
  6. Performance Monitoring and Tuning

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A university degree (Bachelor’s) in mathematics, science, business administration, computer science, or any other relevant qualification is required. Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.
  • A minimum of One (1) year of relevant professional experience in SQL Programming at the international, national level or in the private sector.
  • Experience in Data warehouse projects and requirements gathering is required.
  • Experience in Power shell scripts desired.
  • Strong analytical skills needed for gap analysis and source-to-target mapping.
  • Experience in understanding the identified gaps and providing solutions, translating them to technical efforts, and estimating the work.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews ensuring quality of development and testing procedures and protocol.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
  • Internal applicants from GSSC are required to complete the Learning Path corresponding to their current level before applying for another position. Technical Skills Requirement

  • Expertise in tools such as MSSQL, SSMS, T-SQL and experience in writing, testing, debugging, maintaining, supporting, production code; performance tuning of code.

National Officer (NO) staff are nationals of the country in which they perform functions of a technical and professional nature. Eligible applicants are nationals of Hungary.

National Officer staff are locally recruited staff and therefore, are responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements. UNICEF does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
