The overarching strategic goal of UNICEF’s ICT Division (ICTD) is to transform and build partnerships with our stakeholders to successfully implement UNICEF programmes globally through the use of innovative technology-enabled solutions.

The Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES) is a mechanism to deliver UNICEF’s Strategic Plan 2018-2021 and the foundation for reaching the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. SES will enable UNICEF to win support for the cause of children from decision makers and the wider public, making UNICEF an even stronger advocacy, fundraising, and communication force for children.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Senior ICT Business Relationship Manager, the incumbent will support the ICT knowledge management, dissemination and communication to internal stakeholders, Country Offices and National Committees.

Key responsibilities:

1. Support the SES ICTD team in developing and implementing a sustainable, secure and scalable information and knowledge management environment based on SharePoint Online and other internal communications tools that meets the needs of the project.

2. Work with the Project Coordination team to draft, publish and communicate the project communications, contribute to training and outreach materials to fundraising country offices to be onboarded to SES project.

3. Help users in using key information systems (e.g. SAP, Salesforce, intranet) and facilitate the adoption of new technologies and processes.

4. Provide support in driving the adoption of digital tools of the project with dedicated end-users trainings and practical support to improve the digital maturity of the project.

5. Analyze information resources and users’ requirements, translate these requirements into SharePoint information management or other recommended communication solutions and recommend enhancements in the functionality of existing procedures and systems as required.

6. Improve and manage two-way information flows between SES Project team, Headquarters, Country Offices and Regional Offices, by notably organizing regular knowledge sharing sessions.

7. Provide users with first-level support for incidents and service requests related to information systems, escalating to second-level support (Salesforce team) and third-level support (IT) when needed.

8. Work and collaborate with diverse groups of internal cross-functional teams.

9. Support the Senior Business Relationship Manager in any other tasks aimed at improving the information and knowledge flow within and beyond Supporter Engagement Strategy project.

Duration: This consultancy will be for a period of eleven and a half (11.5) months.

Start date: Tentatively July 1, 2021.

Location: Remote work with core working hours established by the Senior Business Relationship Manager, based on project activities and locations.

Reporting to: Senior Business Relationship Manager.

Academic Degrees required:

  • An advanced university degree in management information systems, computer science, business administration, information technology management or other related social science field. A combination of a first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be substituted for the advanced university degree.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated work experience in areas related to information management, project management, knowledge management, communication or related areas is essential.
  • Strong curiosity, sense of humor and a service-oriented and roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and familiarity with SharePoint and Salesforce.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and client-focused orientation.
  • Effective and creative problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Team-player who works well with different personalities and takes responsibility for individual work.
  • Experience in fundraising operations is a plus.
  • Experience in the UN system is an asset.

Other Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Visa requirement:

With the exception of the US Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, should the selected candidate and his/her household members reside in the United States under a different visa, the consultant and his/her household members are required to change their visa status to G4, and the consultant's household members (spouse) will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to be able to work, even if he/she was authorized to work under the visa held prior to switching to G-4.
