How can you make a difference?

The Intern will support the ICT team with basic technical and ICT asset management work under the supervision of the ICT Specialist as per the following:

  • Assist in setting-up new laptops (100 expected in February).
  • Assist in configuring User Accounts (for 100 laptops and 50 for newcomers).
  • Perform ICT layout and preparations to office desk items (computers, phones, dock stations, screens, desk-wiring)
  • Assist and coordinate with staff for backing-up their data, upon replacing their outdated laptops.
  • Assist in checking and recording ICT assets and assist in the planned ad-hoc physical ICT asset count.
  • Assist with ICT stock move planned in February to new space in Sama premise and organize ICT stocks at 2nd and 3rd floors.
  • Record all items in current stock as well as items to be moved into new stock.

Deliverables and Schedules:

  • 100 new computers users configured and setup for standard software and tools.
  • 100 new computers configured with user profiles and linked to offices’ resources, including printers.
  • 50 computers for on-boarding staff configured, and admin preparations completed.
  • Data of staff getting new computers migrated safely to new computers, including OneDrive,
  • New stock at B3 level organized to have equipment and accessories categorized.
  • Move to new stock is monitored, and a log of moved items is generated.
  • Items, equipment, and accessories, at 2nd floor and ICT stock 3rd floor are organized, counted, and registered.
  • All Stock information entered electronically into convenient platforms and systems.
  • Onboarding staff having support to hook equipment on their desks, including phones, docking stations, screens.
  • All ICT equipment registered with inventory and serial numbers.
  • Process of asset control, storage and monitoring is well documented.

Timing:

  • The duration of the assignment is three months on full-time basis.
  • The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon and the incumbent is expected to work from UNICEF Lebanon, Beirut office.
  • The successful candidate can arrange their working days flexibly, depending on the work plan they jointly prepare with the ICT team.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Enrolled or graduated within 2 years in Computer Sciences university program.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Excel including Pivot tables and reporting, Data simulation, Index/match, Conditional formatting.
  • Knowledge of MS Windows 10, software installation and configuration, MS Office and computer skills (MS applications, especially Word and /excel and Excel).
  • Advanced business writing skills is a plus.
  • A high level of individual responsibility, commitment, and initiative.
  • Demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed.

Administrative matters:

  • UNICEF will provide a temporary desk, laptop and access to Internet and printing facilities at the UNICEF offices.
  • The selected intern will be required to share proof of health/medical insurance prior to contract issuance. Health/Medical Insurance costs will be borne by the intern.
  • UNICEF Lebanon will provide the selected intern Malicious Acts Insurance Coverage for service-incurred injuries and malicious acts as per the Appendix D of UN Staff Rules
