How can you make a difference?

Within the direct supervision of the ICT Specialist, the incumbent will be supporting the section with several tasks: Initial setup of 50 new laptops, sanitization of 70 PSB laptops, maintaining ICT assets and accessories, organizing and logging laptops in ICT stock, the data maintenance for 20 on/off-boarding (laptops, desks, phones, radios) and to respond to staff queries in Beirut and field offices.

Timeline Configuring 50 laptops50 laptops are setup/configured and ready to be used by staff.

Data is stored on OneDrive and synced to local computer.

2 weeksCleansing/ wiping 70 laptops – PSBLaptops set for PSB are cleaned from staff data, and Operating System removed.1.3 weeks Maintaining ICT assets and accessoriesIT assets are checked and maintained; a balance sheet for accessories is regularly updated.1 week Organizing and logging laptops in ICT stockNew and returned Laptops are health-checked upon receipt, safely stored in ICT stock and monitored using Asset Tracker system.1.5 days Data maintenance for 20 on/off-boarding (laptops, desks, phones, radios)Data for on/off boarding staff are copied from/to cloud or external storage (phones, laptops)3 days Maintaining ICT support service calls by staff: logging, following-up and closingManaging service gateway and responding for calls (escalation, assignment, following up and resolving)2 weeks Providing 1st-line ICT support to staff in Beirut and zonal offices. Receiving and acting upon ICT calls (calls, emails, visits...)2 weeks Perform ICT layout and preparations to office desk items (computers, phones, dock stations, screens, desk-wiring).

Desk preparation for new staff and troubleshooting in case of problems.1 week Setting up and preparing for internal and external e-meetings.

Preparing for external meetings or internal large meetings that require ICT intervention.3 days Maintaining the print server and performing printers daily check-up.

Daily check on printers and helping to maintain the print server to avoid and solve any problems with users. 4 days Managing consumables from procurement to distribution to keeping track of storage count.

Keeping track of ICT Consumables count and working on software tools to ease the process for distribution and management.2 weeks To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: A university degree in Computer Science or any other related field.

Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in computer hardware/ software management and ICT support.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
