Overview

Provide ICT support services and technical assistance to the Istanbul Regional Hub

You have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in IT systems and information technology or relevant field of end-user support
  • Good knowledge on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, 11) and Windows Server 2019, 2022
  • Knowledge on MS Azure, SharePoint services, and VoIP
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work inclusively and collaboratively
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively in a challenging environment
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Sound security awareness
  • Knowledge of Apple OS and mobile phone platforms
  • Knowledge of Cisco routers and firewalls
  • Familiarity with database management and office technology equipment

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the ICT Specialist, the ICT Assistant provides ICT support services and daily technical support to the Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) staff and other users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. The ICT Assistant promotes a clientoriented approach.

• Provides general IT user support to clients by: Continuously assisting users with IT issues • Maintaining computers, servers, printers and other devices in good working status • Monitoring full compliance of IT systems and procedures with UN/UNDP rules and regulations on IT operations • Regular updates of user hardware and software • Continuous monitoring of the network resources to ensure a stable and responsive network environment. • Troubleshooting and monitoring of network problems. • Assisting the procurement of IT equipment, software and services • Provision of ICT support to events, workshops, trainings, etc. • Support to the use of ERP systems functionality for improved business results and improved client services • Perform other duties as required

At least 1 year of experience in IT systems and information computer technology or relevant field of end-user support. • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, 11) and expected to have good knowledge on Windows Server 2019, 2022. • Knowledge on MS Azure & Sharepoint services & VoIP are important to have. • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; • Sound security awareness.

The UN Volunteer will be based in Istanbul (5-days in the office with full-time engagement) and responsible for arranging her/his own housing and other living essentials. The Summary of national UN Volunteer (Specialist) Entitlement (paid in local currency): • Entry allowance (one-time): USD 400 • 3 Months service in total: USD 4,400 [(Monthly living allowance: USD 1,360 + Exit allowance: USD 113 per month when successfully deliveries and completion)] • Private insurance: Health, dental, life and dismemberment (100%) coverage by CIGNA [As per UN’s diplomatic mission status, it is not included in National Security Institution’s (SGK) system. Can be only initiated on private basis] • Annual leave: 2.5 days accrued per calendar month (For instance: 7.5 days for 3 months service) • Free access to different learning platforms and UN & UNV network
