Overview

Provide technical assistance in legal counseling for refugees.

You have:

  • Experience in legal advising or counseling for refugees and displaced persons.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and the legal framework relating to refugees.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and supervise volunteers.

Contract

Position: ICLA Technical Assistant

Reports to: ICLA Team Leader

Supervision of: ICLA incentive volunteers when required.

Duty station: Tripoli, Libya.

Travel: 40% Domestically outside of duty station based on programme needs and occasionally to Tunis.

Background

The Norwegian Refugee Council is an international, independent, humanitarian, nongovernmental organization that provides assistance to refugees’ and internally displaced people in many countries worldwide including Libya. As a part of its assistance, NRC provides information, counselling and legal assistance (ICLA) services to empower beneficiaries and support them to claim and exercise their rights. NRC beneficiaries include Refugees, internally displaced people, and members of host community.
