Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The UN Secretary-General launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform, which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator - the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System and Representative of the UN Secretary-General at the country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDGs. The RC Office works with the UN Country Team for Saudi Arabia to research and develop the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), and other products which contribute to the support that the UN provides to sustainable development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Duties and Responsibilities: The IC will report to the Head of Office and will work with the RCO Team on the design and finalization of the UNSDCF 2027 – 2031 and the UN Overview, in English and Arabic. Key Tasks: 1. The UNSDCF is the key framework guiding the cooperation between the UN system and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of their national sustainable development priorities. Using the revised KSA UNSDCF branding, design and finalize the English and Arabic versions of the UNSDCF with website and print versions, including developing infographics and other design elements as required. 2. Using materials provided by the RCO, and working with the RCO team, design and finalize an English and Arabic presentation on the United Nations.
Qualifications/special skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related area is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 4 years of professional work experience in graphic design is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and Arabic are required. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
Additional Information
Recruitment for this position is on a local basis. The incumbent is required to have the legal right to live and work in the specified working location.
