Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Interregional Adviser, Regional Advisory Programme (RAP), Division for Africa, Least Developed Countries and Special Programmes (ALDC), the Individual Contractor will provide research, analytical, administrative and project support for the implementation of the COTONI Project and the day-to-day activities of the Regional Advisory Programme (RAP). The Individual Contractor will perform the following duties: 1. Support the implementation of the COTONI Project and RAP activities • Assist in the day-to-day implementation of activities under the COTONI Project and other RAP initiatives. • Provide logistical and administrative support for project meetings, workshops, technical missions and stakeholder consultations. • Assist in preparing meeting agendas, presentations, participant lists and other supporting documentation. • Follow up on routine actions arising from meetings and missions. 2. Support project monitoring and reporting • Assist in collecting, compiling and organizing data required for monitoring project implementation against the project logical framework and work plan. • Update monitoring tables, activity trackers and implementation matrices. • Support the preparation of progress reports, briefing notes, presentations and other project management documents. • Assist in maintaining project files and supporting documentation. 3. Provide research and data management support • Collect, organize and verify quantitative and qualitative data from different sources. • Compile and maintain datasets using Microsoft Excel, Stata or other relevant software under the guidance of the supervisor. • Assist in preparing tables, charts, graphs and simple data visualizations for reports, presentations and training materials. • Support data entry, data cleaning and basic statistical analysis related to project activities. 4. Support project planning and coordination • Assist in updating project work plans, implementation schedules and activity calendars. • Monitor routine deadlines and support the team in tracking project deliverables. • Prepare draft meeting notes, mission summaries and follow-up matrices. • Assist in coordinating information received from project partners and team members. 5. Support research and knowledge products • Conduct desk research on trade, transport, trade facilitation, productive capacities and other development issues affecting Least Developed Countries. • Compile reference materials, statistics and background information for studies, technical papers, presentations and publications. • Assist in formatting reports, presentations, publications and training materials. • Support literature reviews and the compilation of bibliographic references. 6. Support knowledge management and administrative tasks • Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy project files. • Update contact databases, mailing lists and document repositories. • Assist in preparing correspondence, presentations and other communication materials. • Perform other research, administrative and project support tasks as required by the Regional Advisory Programme.

Qualifications/special skills

High school diploma At least 1 year of experience in the area of management, economics or other related field is required.

Languages

Fluency written and spoken in English is required.
