This post is in the Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund for Syria Emergency Response, Humanitarian Financing Unit (HFU) of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Türkiye. The post is based in Gaziantep, with possible travel to field locations such as Antakya, Kilis. The incumbent reports to the HFU Program Cycle Manager and works closely with the various sections of the HFU, as well as the Coordination, and the Information Management Units of UNOCHA Türkiye.

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the HFU Program Cycle Manager Unit in OCHA, the Humanitarian Programs Associate provides the overall project cycle management, administration and execution of varied and inter-related operational activities in one of the largest country based pooled fund which managed over US$100 per year over the last two years, ensuring high quality, accuracy and accountability of the work performed. The Humanitarian Programs Associate promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach. The Humanitarian Programs Associate works in close collaboration with all members of Humanitarian Financing Unit which hosts the SCHF, other staff in other OCHA units and in other UN agencies staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.

Under the direct supervision of Georgios Alexandratos, Fund Manager of the Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Keep track with global Country Based Pool Fund (CBPF) activities; • Support the Fund Manager and SCHF Humanitarian Financing Unit by participating in the process of project selection and technical review during SSHF allocation; • Support SCHF reporting processes, ensuring evidence-based analysis of the performance and results achieved through activities undertaken by Implementing Partners; • Under the guidance of the Fund Manager, train national NGOs in various humanitarian fi-nancing topics as well as SCHF procedures; • Support Humanitarian Financing Unit in all issues regarding SCHF NGO eligibility and NGO capacity assessment
