Key Responsibilities:

PROGRAMMES RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT 1. Business intelligence gathering for use in funding and resource mobilization to support humanitarian response and DRRM/Climate Change initiatives: • Gather/collect updated information on context (hazards, risks, vulnerabilities, humanitarian actors and their programs and priorities, etc.), donor priorities and interests (donor map and profiles). • Assist in establishing/drafting and maintaining updated humanitarian needs profiles based on context, sector and donor priorities • Actively search for funding opportunities, partnering and collaboration opportunities that could support or meet identified humanitarian needs 2. Assist in and support funding acquisition initiatives and proposal development for DRRM/CCA initiatives in collaboration with technical experts and other WVDF functions, following WVV and global standards • Support Humanitarian Programmes and Portfolio Manager in developing HEA annual funding acquisition plan • Technical writing support on concept notes and proposals program or project development and designing.

• Updating of DM/DRRM Capacity statement of WVDF in coordination with other frontline and support departments. • Assist in the development and implementation of different fundraising activities in collaboration with GAM and NRD to increase WVDF funding, especially for emergency response fund (NEPRF) and response funding. • Record keeping of completed work products (concept notes, proposals, among others)

PROGRAMMES INFORMATION SYSTEM MANAGEMENT 1. Support the enhancement and management of HEA’s DRRM information management system that support EMS programmes requirements, preparedness/Early Warning and Early Action and Response in coordination and collaboration with concerned and relevant WVDF functions • Ensure records are collected and encoded and kept/stored, including keeping of confidential information stored in the system and necessary follow-up of partners or information sources (internal and external) • Support in the management and completeness of the system requirement • Timely updating of hazards and analysis of impacts • Conducts checking of the data/information to ensure quality before entry in the system.

TECHNICAL AND OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT 1. Record keeping and reporting • Develops a system for file-keeping and monitoring, either through electronic assisted systems or manual systems, provided further that it will serve both the confidentiality of records and easy access for the designated users. • Ensures effective consolidation of accomplishment reports of the managers before submission to the HEA Director. • Formulates communication strategies in disseminating approved agreements, plans, guidelines and policies to all concerned departments, teams and staff. 2. Facilitates HEA administrative concerns, particularly those concerns that impact the internal and external relations, including but not limited to responding to correspondence and inquiries. 3. Participates in and provides support to departmental corporate activities including but not limited to corporate meetings/devotionals. 4. Sets and defines periodical or annual performance accountability and deliverables under the supervision of the immediate superior. 5. Performs other relevant tasks, when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree on any course related to Social Sciences, DRR/CCA.
  • Two to three years of field experience in humanitarian relief response work in the complex and uncertain operating environments.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in research (quantitative and qualitative), proposal writing and project designing, and information management.
  • Experience in providing technical assistance.
  • Professional qualification related to Research and Programme Associate
  • Must know Basic Data Entry, Data management.
  • Ability and willingness travel in highly complex and risky environment.
  • Knowledge on basic Geographical Information System is an advantage
