  • TL course certification
  • Technical Survey course certification
  • EOD level -3 course certification

  • Basic knowledge of English

ABOUT THE JOB

The overall purpose of the role:

The Mine /ERW Team Leader (TL) will manage Clearance Sections, Mechanical Demining Unit (MDU), and Survey on operational sites. He supervises the site operations activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the Section Leaders (SL) with task reports and site clearance plans.
  • Direct supervision of all clearance sections, MDU in an operational site.
  • Be aware of the security alerts and evacuation routes in case of security collapse in operations. Establish an evacuation plan.
  • Be responsible for explosives storekeeping, inventory transportation, and safety
  • Be responsible for overall technical/operational management and radio communications issues in accordance with DDG SOP at the operational site and within the area of responsibility.
  • Organize handover ceremony of the completed tasks in consultation with the Site Operation Officer.
  • Control quality and quantity of work in the field and make sure that all the activities are according to the plan and SOP.
  • Maintain good discipline within the sections and in compound
  • Prepare monthly/weekly progress- and completion reports for the Site Operator Officer/assistant
  • Do the planning and coordination between the sections on the work site.
  • Prepare and execute maintenance plan and revision refresh training according to the instructions by the Site Operation Officer.
  • Attend the coordination meetings and other meetings in the field office and as per the direction of (SOO).
  • Responsible for the field camp management, security guards, cooks, and cleaners in the field camp.
  • Assist the Section Leader (SL) in the preparation of maps and drawing of sketch maps of BF and MF.
  • Control the working condition of equipment of the sections for any damages and see to replacements if necessary.
  • Undertake any other tasks as ordered by the Site Operation Officer.

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • 3 year’s experience in the mine action program
  • 2 year’s experiences in EOD and clearance operation

Education:

  • High School
  • TL course
  • Technical Survey course
  • EOD leave -3 course
  • Basic management course

Languages:

  • Pashto and Dari –fluency
  • English - basic
