You have:

- Experience in emergency, transition and recovery programming including stabilization, resilience, peacebuilding, socioeconomic development, reintegration, research, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong drafting and reporting skills.
- Ability to adapt and perform effectively in challenging and multicultural environments.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid computer literacy (MS Office, databases, email/internet).
- Security awareness while working in the field.
Contract
This is a UNV International Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Youth contracts.
IOM is the Cluster Lead Agency for Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) for natural disaster-induced displacement situations under the 2005 IASC Humanitarian Reform, and since 2017 is the Co-Lead of the Platform for the Coordination of the Venezuela Response, together with UNHCR (R4V). In Colombia, it also leads the Shelter and Settlements Cluster and pushes the HDPN agenda as an expression of the New Way of Working, which falls within the 2030 Agenda commitment to “leave no one behind”. It is critical that these commitments are operationalized at country level through concrete initiatives to work more coherently across humanitarian, development and peace-responsive efforts
Under the direct supervision of Humanitarian Coordinator, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Assist the Humanitarian Coordinator in taking notes, providing technical support and drafting support materials for meetings of the different inter-agency groups, ensuring that HDPN is taken into account.
- Provide support with interagency tasks such as assisting in funding tracking, ensuring communication with field teams to collect information, disseminate key products and minutes of meetings to partners.
- Assist in identifying opportunities, and providing support to new and existing mechanisms and platforms, to strengthen joint approaches and planning across the HDPN with a variety of partners at different levels, reflecting the principles of the OECD-DAC Recommendation on the HDP Nexus
- Contribute to HDPN mapping analysis including definition of common priorities in a number of crises
- Assist the Humanitarian Coordinator and their team with reporting and keep track of deadlines for the production of key segments of Refugees and Migrants Response Plan, and of the Humanitarian Response Plan
- Support information management colleagues in validating product updates, assisting in ensuring accuracy and presentation of overall data
- Assist in the consolidation of monthly data and support the preparation of periodic reports, such as SitReps, fact sheets, briefing notes, guidelines and SOPs, as well as other specific products in coordination with the Information Management Team

The assignment is based in Bogotá, capital city of Colombia. The country is still suffering from an internal armed conflict, which involves recurring hostilities, confrontations, and attacks between Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) and State Security Forces (SSF), and among Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in rural areas, despite the continuing peace efforts of the National Government. However, living condition in Bogotá are quite good, and it should be noted that United Nations personnel and visitors can carry out their work in a safe environment. There are no current direct threats to UN personnel or operations within the country.
The IOM Office is in the neighbourhood of Chico, a safe and up-scale area of the city. Most foreign and local staff live around the area, as traffic in Bogotá can be complicated. The neighbourhood has good access to restaurants, supermarkets and local produce shops. There is easy access to good health facilities as well. Walking is considered safe, although caution is advised during late hours.
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan.
