Description of Position: This position is housed within G3PC’s Humanitarian Multilateral Division (HMD), and will report directly to the HMD Division Chief. This position leads, directs, and manages a dynamic team of humanitarian professionals focused on strengthening and overseeing BHA’s institutional relationship with Rome-Based humanitarian agencies, including the World Food Program (WFP), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). As WFP is currently BHA’s largest partner in terms of funding and geographic scope, this position entails significant engagement with BHA senior leadership. The selected Team Lead will: ● Lead the Rome-Based Agencies (RBA) team in all aspects of its work, including strategic planning, external representation, coordination across BHA, budget planning, program management, and daily and routine tasks and workflows; ● Direct and manage all team staff, working closely with the Deputy Team Lead, to identify distribute, and balance workload and tasks among employees to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; ● Work closely with counterparts at the U.S. Mission to the UN in Rome, G3PC management, and BHA leadership to represent and convey BHA positions with WFP, FAO, and IFAD headquarter staff and DC-liaison offices; ● Represent BHA equities and positions in internal US. government interagency discussions and within the broader humanitarian architecture; ● Lead BHA negotiations on sensitive issues with partner agencies and diverse stakeholders; ● Lead the team’s efforts to consult, and provide support, guidance, and expertise to staff across BHA, especially staff from geographic and technical offices; ● Become well-versed in policy and operational matters pertaining to the Rome-Based agencies, and develop a strong knowledge base and expertise on issues pertaining to emergency food security and nutrition; ● Become certified and serve as an Agreement Officer’s Representative/Contracting Officer’s Representative (AOR/COR), as assigned. ● Sign-up for and serve as needed multiple times throughout the year on Washington-based Response Management Teams (RMTs), which provide services and support to Disaster Assistance Response Teams (DARTs) deployed in response to disasters.
