Quality and quantity of expertise in team context for successful implementation of minority art contest 2024 and adjunct minority artist human rights actions; effective provision of expertise for the development of OHCHR’s global minority artists human rights defenders action 2024-2028; measurable contribution of successful implementation of minority artists contests; successful expert engagements (multiple) as concerns anti-discrimination law and intersectionality; completion of UN Network community of practice expert support follow up; number of meetings convened in areas under contract.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights) is the leading UN entity on human rights. We represent the world's commitment to the promotion and protection of the full range of human rights and freedoms set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The OHCHR Indigenous Peoples and Minorities Section (IPMS) works to advance the protection and empowerment of indigenous peoples and minorities with a view to ensuring the full realization of all human rights. The work of IPMS includes coordination of the UN Network on Racial Discrimination and Protection of Minorities (the "Network").
IPMS seeks an international consultant to undertake a series of discrete tasks as set out below (1) to advance IPMS's programmatic support for the voice of minority artists, and in particular its expanding programme focusing on minority artist human rights defenders; (2) to advance the work of the UN Network on Racial Discrimination and Protection of Minorities Work Plan, in particular in the areas of Intersectionality and related to the organisation of communities-of-practice meetings; (3) to undertake related work in the field of intersectionality and anti-discrimination law, including although not limited to national- and regional-level implementation of the Guide Protecting Minority Rights: A Practical Guide to Developing Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Legislation.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced degree in Law, Human Rights or similar field is required. At least 2 years of relevant work experience Ability with graphic design program
Languages
Fluency in English and French and knowledge in Spanish are required or another UN language is an advantage
