You have:

  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organizations is an asset.
  • Experience in conducting recruitment processes is an asset.
  • Experience in the Oracle recruitment system is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.

  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team.

Contract

This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Resources Management and the direct supervision of the National Human Resources Officer, UNV will perform the following functions: 1-Assist the IOM HR focal point for processing recruitment requests in the mission: a- Review recruitment requests and all supporting documents. b- Advertise vacancies. c -Filtration of applications and preparation of long lists. d- Check eligibility criteria of candidates and provide clearance to panel. e- Attend interviews with panel members and monitor interviews process f- Check Candidate assessment forms (CAF) and provide inputs to panel members prior to submission to COM g-Reference check h- Contact selected candidates and prepare the formal offer to them

2- Assist with the creation, maintenance and updating personnel files for all national/international staff, interns, consultants and UNVs in the mission. 3- Assist in maintaining and reviewing the attendance sheets and leave records. 4- As needed, assist in following up on contract extensions and separations to ensure the administrative process are completed. 5- Assist in preparing HR letters and NVs for staff members. 6- Assist in issuing IOM / UN ID cards for IOM staff members 7-Any other related tasks may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
