Contract

This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

This UNV assignment is part of UNDP CO. The Human Resources (HR) unit provides support to Country Office (CO) management in ensuring that the office is appropriately staffed with high quality and engaged personnel who receive the guidance, feedback, and development they need to fully contribute to the CO’s agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. The HR team applies strategic human resource management policies, procedures, programs, and solutions – that leverage both technology and analytics – to promote a strong people management culture and high performing, diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Head of HR or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV HR Assistant will:

• Provide support to the implementation of HR strategies. a. Ensure full compliance of HR processes and records with UN/UNDP rules, regulations, policies, and strategies. b. Compile information for formal CO management groups responsible for collectively reviewing and discussing CO staff performance, talent, and development needs. c. Collect, copy, file data for UNDP’s participation in inter-agency exercises and surveys, such as comprehensive and interim local salary survey, hardship, and place-to-place surveys, in coordination with his/her supervisor. d. Provide HR administrative support for the effective implementation of HR strategies and initiatives.

• Implement HR services for CO recruitment and staffing. a. Track HR transactions related to positions, recruitment, benefits, earnings/deductions, retroactivity, recoveries, adjustments, and separations through ERP, in close coordination with GSSC as applicable. b. Provide inputs to the CO staffing table and CO rosters. c. Maintain proper filing system for HR records and documents. Extract, input, copy and file data from various sources. d. Prepare routine correspondence, memoranda, and reports in accordance with CO needs and SOPs. e. Provide HR administrative support for the effective implementation of HR services to the UNDP CO and partner agencies, including recruitment.

• Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO. a. Participate in the training for the operations/projects staff on HR issues and all relevant matters. b. Make sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice. • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
