How can you make a difference?

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide professional graphic design services for a number of internal and external communication and advocacy products related to advancing the Regional Flagship Results and the dissemination of situation analysis of children rights in the region.

Scope of Work: The UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Region has been identified four Regional Flagship Results for Children as essential challenges of the pending agenda in the region. These results are at the core of UNICEF’s mandate and comparative advantage and enable the development of shared approaches to reach equity at scale and facilitate a focused learning and advocacy agenda that can go beyond geographical boundaries.

A series of graphic materials will be needed for print and/or digital platforms.

Reporting line, Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Knowledge Management Specialist, the consultant will undertake the following in accordance with UNICEF’s most recent global brand guidelines and UNICEF graphics manual: 1. Design fact sheets, data briefs, brochures, data briefs and/or reports. The documents will include text, data visualizations and UNICEF photographs. 2. Design infographics, data visualizations and factographs, for print and/or digital platforms, including material to be used in the regional SharePoint platforms and Drupal.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

  • Bachelor degree in design or comparable academic preparation
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional graphic design experience
  • At least five years of professional graphic design experience
  • Familiarity with UNICEF’s branding and style guidelines; ideally experience designing products for UNICEF or other UN agencies.
  • Excellent creative skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign software;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to deliver products on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with printing and production companies.
  • Experience working remotely, very responsive over email and Skype.
  • Can deliver high quality products under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated development/programming skills particularly those that are pertinent to UNICEF strategic priorities on gender issues and women’s rights;
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
