You have:
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in natural or social sciences, engineering, economics, business administration, public administration, international relations, law, political science, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Over fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in programme management, public administration, or international relations is required.
- Experience with senior leadership roles is required.
- Experience in managing complex processes is required.
- Understanding of the UN system is required.
- Proven gender equality expertise and knowledge is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French is desirable or knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
Result of Service April 2023: Convene task team, oversee consultations and discussions, develop first draft plan for the recommendations.
May 2023: Document to inform consultations and discussions of UNSDG.
July 2023: Circulation of UN 2.0 Policy Brief.
September 2023 – Final implementation plan based on System and Member State feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the guidance of senior leadership, the High-level Facilitator will lead a Task Team of UN staff to develop an actionable plan for the implementation of the Our Common Agenda requested Independent Review on the UN’s Capacity to Deliver on Gender Equality. The Task Team will be responsible to engage their entities and the wider UN system, consult on specific pieces needed to cost recommendations, advise on policy changes, develop an agreed plan for what success would look like, and facilitate the detailed steps to operationalizing each recommendation and the set of concrete steps needed to get there, including who will do what and when. The High-level Facilitator is responsible for producing an Implementation Plan, informing discussions on the review by the UNSDG, and ensuring the recommended way forward is reflected in the UN 2.0 Policy Brief of Our Common Agenda.
Key deliverables:
1. Lead a discussion within the Task Team on the recommendations, facilitating ownership, deep understanding, and refinement of any overall approach. 2. Oversee and coordinate, as well as provide clear direction to the Task Team to undertake specific consultations, fact-finding, development of plans for the implementation, sequencing, resourcing and actioning of each recommendation of the Independent Review. 3. Advise on what success would look like and the concrete outcomes that reflect proper implementation of the Review's recommendations. 4. Maintain the level of ambition for the overall exercise, navigating the political elements of institutional reform. 5. Keeping the Deputy Secretary-General and advisory group of Under-Secretaries-General regularly briefed, seeking guidance and providing advice. Linking the direction and steer provided by the senior leadership back into the work of the task team. 6. Deliver key milestones, including substantive content to inform consultations and discussions of the UNSDG, informing 2.0 policy brief, and finalization of a detailed implementation plan. 7. Ensure that the UN System has the right mechanisms in place to go ahead with the Implementation Plan beyond the tenure of the High-level Facilitator and the Task Team.
