UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

Robust supply chains are critical to achieve Gavi’s goal to reach every child with immunisation, and to protect the billions of dollars of vaccines procured by Gavi and countries every year. Gavi’s updated five-year (2021–2025) immunisation supply chain (iSC) strategy strives towards a vision of strong supply chains that enable the delivery of potent life-saving vaccines to every person when needed, no matter where they live. The strategy provides a holistic and ambitious approach for supply chain improvements, to strengthen the immunization supply chains of today, help respond to COVID-19 and future pandemics and emergencies and build a foundation for the future. With countries introducing new and expensive vaccines, and supply chains being expanded and modernised to enhance the storage capacities at all levels, countries must now focus on ensuring comprehensive stock and vaccine management. This requires robust planning and forecasting, maintaining appropriate stock levels of immunisation commodities including vaccines, proper storage and distribution, reducing wastage, ensuring end to end visibility of stocks and use of data for monitoring and planning purposes. This role will help countries to ensure that through targeted investments in 6 priority areas, the countries manage their vaccines comprehensively.
