Role and responsibilities

Specific responsibilities - Monitor the security situation in both camps and host areas and advise staff accordingly - Support the Safety and Security Coordinator in the management and oversight of the guards, including scheduling, inspection of relevant documentation (i.e. visitor books, inventory records) 2 and spot checks (including night shifts).Conduct offices fire drills and fleet audits in line with the NRC HSS policy supervise, train and develop eventual security staff at host and camps level - Ensure vehicle and staff movements are monitored according to procedures and that necessary safety and security equipment are available and in good condition -Ensure regular site visits to all NRC operations to review and address any identified new Safety and security risks. - Support the Safety and Security coordinator in the safety induction of Volunteers in host and IBVs in camps -Support the Safety and Security Coordinator in ensuring all safety and security procedures are in place, minimum standards are met, including refresher training and drills. - Ensure HSS compliance through the right on-time reporting - Ensure Incident reporting mechanism is in place and all incidents are uploaded on file - Support the Safety and Security coordinator in ensuring health and safety awareness sessions in both host and camp are delivered.

Generic responsibilities

  2. Implement NRC’s safety and security policies and action plan at host and camps areas.
  3. Ensure compliance with NRC policies, security tools, handbooks and guidelines
  4. Conduct regular security and risk assessments to identify safety and security needs.
  5. Train staff in all HSS mandatory trainings including (First aids training, regular briefings, HSS inductions and other related trainings).
  6. Facilitate host and camps staff evacuation in emergencies.
  7. Liaise with UN agencies, NGOs and other external actors to gain security information
  8. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  9. Prepare security updates and reports as required
  10. Active promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC
