The IRC Health Department consists of programs that address public health, access to health services, and health equity for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (RIM) communities. These programs include services for newly arrived refugees, clients with behavioral health needs, complex medical needs, pregnant women, victims of domestic violence, and the elderly.

Job Overview

The Health Promotion Supervisor provides supervision of health education workshops and health service coordination, program oversight, staff supervision, partnership development, and grant maintenance. This role will be responsible for developing or curating culturally and linguistically appropriate maternal and child health education curriculum for the Afghan population and developing a health service coordination project for Ukrainian new arrivals. This position is charged with assisting the Sr. Health Program Manager in maintaining service provision and contract compliance for the National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrant, and Migrant (NRC-RIM) and Refugee Health Promotion grants. This position will also assist the Sr. Health Program Manager with strategic planning and monitoring and evaluation of the specified programs catered for Afghan pregnant women and children under the age of 5 and the Ukrainian newly arrived population.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Identify, curate, and develop maternal and child health education and health literacy materials from reputable sources for effective health education campaigns. - Co- develop curriculum for maternal and child health group education sessions. - Facilitate activities designed to gather data about maternal and child health knowledge, attitudes, and practices. - Coordinate with the Senior Health Program Manager to develop a targeted outreach plan to reach RIM communities. - Create a local framework to provide health service coordination. - Supervise, train, and support the Maternal and Child Health Coordinator and the Health Services caseworker. - Provide appropriate supervision and care coordination to ensure acute client needs are met in a timely and culturally appropriate manner for each project. - Ensure beneficiaries enrolled in program adhere to their plan of care as prescribed by health providers. - Ensure client confidentiality and abide by federal, state, and local government guidelines on confidentiality. - Maintain and initiate partnerships with community partners. - Develop strategies to enhance community outreach, engage stakeholders, and expand medical service providers partnered with IRC. - Provide medical service providers’ training sessions to increase health equity for underserved populations, including refugees, immigrants, and migrants. - Participate in monthly meetings with project leads across the IRC network and Arizona to share strategies on project deliverables, discuss best practices, and tackle challenges. - Track budgets, program expenditures, and activities for various projects and ensure donor deliverables are met, compile data, and draft reports as required by donor and agency specifications. - Regular program oversight and supervision including monitoring/auditing of documents, records, and tracking tools for program case files and reporting. - Analyze areas for program development; strengthen and recommend program improvements and changes to the Senior Health Program Manager. - Comply with all IRC policies, procedures, and protocols including adherence to the IRC Way and Child Safeguarding. - Other duties as assigned.

Indirect Reporting: IRC Deputy Director, IRC Tucson Director, IRC HQ Other Internal and/or external contacts:

External: Community partners, sub-grantees, stakeholder partners, State Refugee Health Manager, DES, NRC-RIM, medical providers, Ethnic Based Community Organizations

Job Requirements:

**Education****: Undergraduate degree in a related field or five years of experience in health-related case management or health promotion position working with a minority population, is required. Master in Public Health or Equivalent preferred.

Work Experience: Two+ years of professional work experience; preferably in public health, non-profit, or social services environment

Demonstrated Skills and Proficiencies:

- Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives. - Experience working with refugees and/or immigrants; cross-cultural or overseas experience accepted. - Experience coordinating Health Promotion and Community Health Worker programming. - Experience with community-based research including survey design or other data collection and analysis methods - Computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook). Proven experience in web-based data entry systems, with both data extraction and design preferred. - Highly organized self-starter with proven success prioritizing multiple tasks, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. - Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. - Flexibility with demonstrated ability to maintain responsibility for multiple tasks in the context of a diverse, fast-paced work environment. - Strategic, creative, problem solver capable of working well independently and as a part of a team. - Demonstrated understanding of coaching and motivational interviewing - Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle. - In accordance with Arizona State Law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.

Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English, bilingual ability preferred in Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French or other refugee/immigrant language used in Arizona. Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Environment:

- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above-outlined responsibilities. - May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
