Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinate the ongoing design activities of the DRA Health and Nutrition project with Project Manager and Health Sector Lead.
  • Coordinate with DoPH on all steps of the project in particular during the project design, and inception.
  • Participation in all health and nutrition coordination meeting in particular with EPR and DoPH.
  • Coordinate closely with local partner NGO.
  • In coordination with the M&E unit, ensure that the M&E system is implemented and adhered to enable evidence of impact data to be captured.
  • Prepare the MOU specific section and follow internally and externally with MoPH relevant department to be finalized.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and strengthening relationships with key partners, especially health and nutrition focal points
  • Ensure that proper community development practices and “Do No Harm” practices are incorporated and upheld throughout the planning and implementation of the project.
  • Provide on time, weekly movement plan to the Security Department. Coordinate with security coordinator and regularly monitor the security environment in project locations.

Reporting and planning

  • Develop and implement Project’s health and nutrition section activities work plans.
  • Assist the project manager to prepare monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports.
  • Assist project manager to coordinate closely with health and nutrition sector lead, SC department to ensure timely sourcing, and delivery of budgeted goods/line items.
  • Assist project manager to manage project’s funds and ensure efficient utilization of funds for maximum impact and ensure proper coding and budget availability of all project expenses.
  • Share the weekly and monthly project data from the health and nutrition component as well as success stories to HMIS officer.
  • Share monthly and quarterly pharmaceutical consumption report to Pharmacy Coordinator.
  • Submit project’s health and nutrition reports to the Project Manager copying the Health and Nutrition Sector Lead.

Supervision and quality assurance

  • Provide leadership and management oversight to projects staff and overall project implementation to ensure project close out on time and on budget
  • Conduct regular supervision from implementation of health and nutrition project activities and make sure that project targets and grant objectives are met within the close out timeframe.
  • Conducting the on-the-job training sessions for staff in the health and Nutrition fixed canters.
  • Ensure that grant and financial rules and regulations are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure project documents are finalized and filed as part of due diligence process and record retention requirements
  • Monitor progress of health and nutrition activities towards achieving project targets, flagging any concerns to the project manager and health sector lead.

Others:

  • Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards.
  • To be aware and prepared to implement WV Afghanistan Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs plan under the context of assigned projects interventions.
  • Required Professional Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience of working in health, HMIS, MHPSS, Nutrition, Management and Maternal health sector.

Required Education,

MD degree is preferred any other public health bachelor degree will be accepted (such Public health, Midwifery, Nurse, assistant doctor and equivalent).

Basic knowledge of various technical sectors of humanitarian work. Excellent presentation and communication skills Demonstrated ability to facilitate and encourage learning. Able to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural context, stressful environments and with limited resources Cross cultural sensitivity, flexible views, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Interpersonal, management and conflict resolution skills. Understanding of protection principles and child rights Strong report writing and monitoring skills Knowledge of MS Office. Ability to work in a team environment

Requirement

The position based in office and regularly will have supervision and travel in Kushk-e-Kohna and Obeh districts of Herat or any other project targeted locations..
