You have:
- Proven managerial skills to manage a diverse team and partners across various working areas.
- Deep understanding and knowledge in programming related to women's empowerment, climate and environmental justice, gender-based violence, agro-ecology, peacebuilding, and humanitarian programming.
- Experience in growing and developing innovative programmes.
- Familiar with working with local partners and civil society organisations.
- Significant experience in managing the budgets in large programs.
- Skilled networker and communicator who works easily with a wide range of stakeholders.
Description
The Opportunity
You will be an intergral part of the dynamic Sierra Leone team, where the programming focusing on addressing lasting changes around women’s socio-economic and political empowerment, peacebuilding, and addressing the root causes of food security and climate and environmental justice. The Head of Programmes role will work closely with partners and is responsible for the successful implementation of programmes. This role requires a person that has excellent managerial skills, strong at networking and communication and can work effectively with partners, donors, and staff.

Trócaire offers a competitive package of salary and benefits including a pension scheme and provides for housing in Sierra Leone.
You will report to the Country Director.The job opportunity will be offered on a fixed term contract for 2 years and is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
As part of your role, you will manage a team of five professionals and up to 6 professionals in the future.

The candidate should also be familiar with working with local partners and civil society organisations. It is important that the candidate has significant experience in managing the budgets in large programs. We are seeking a candidate that is a skilled networker and communicator and that works easily with a wide range of stakeholders.
