Your role as Head of Programme is to develop and ensure implementation of holistic high-quality programmes

In general, you will;

  1. Line manage Core Competence Specialists
  2. Be an active member of the Country Management Group (CMG)
  3. Ensure compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures
  4. Provide programme input to Country Strategy and Plan of Action
  5. Develop Core Competency strategies that are aligned to regional and global priorities and strategies
  6. Develop holistic and needs based programmes, including cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
  7. Identify funding opportunities, develop funding strategies and forecasts
  8. Manage Grants, BPO allocations and reporting to donors, including compliance with donor standards
  9. Ensure quality control, M&E and organizational learning
  10. Build capacity of all technical staff
  11. Ensure In-country representation
  12. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Your responsibility will specifically entail you to;

  • Lead on Safe and Inclusive Programming initiatives, ensuring that all programmes meet minimum standards
  • Develop NRC Yemen’s strategic direction on Durable Solutions and build a portfolio of programmes supporting these ambitions
  • Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, including multi-purpose cash assistance, emergency cash responses

These professional competencies will enable you perform in this role;

  • Multiple years of experience from a senior management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Core competency expertise; click to view our core competencies
  • Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market based programmes
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

These context related skills, knowledge and experience will facilitate your ability to exceed expectations;

  • Experience in complex emergencies and early recovery programming
  • Arabic language skills an asset
