organizations? Now you have the chance. DRC HQ in Copenhagen is looking for a dedicated Head of Unit for the Global Supply Chain hub to lead the successful implementation and ongoing development of the supply chain strategy for DRC and the continuous delivery of adequate support to the regional supply chain operations in the field.

Who are we?

The FRISC (Finance, Supply Chain and Risk) Department is one of the core support departments in DRC. Based in the Headquarters, it consists of around 75 talented and engaged colleagues who are responsible for

DRC’s financial and supply chain affairs globally in close cooperation with the operational departments. The department is overall led by the Executive Director – FRISC (CFO) and 6 other managers who lead the individual teams in the department.

The Global Supply Chain hub team supports the Regional Offices on capacity building & advice, policy development, compliance control and derogation management.

About the job

The Head of Global Supply Chain will lead the Global Supply Chain team and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Implementation and continuous development of the Supply Chain strategy, ensuring that the strategy is updated and adjusted to remain relevant and is aligned with the strategic objectives of the overall DRC Strategy 2025. This includes providing the visionary leadership that will motivate develop and mobilize the staff of the unit towards the common goals, but also inspire and guide the management of the organization to utilize the supply chain specialist competences to leverage other strategic priorities, in particular business engagement and financing.
  • Lead the Supply Chain Global Leadership Group to ensure a global standardized approach to operational supply chain.
  • Participate actively in cross-functional dialogues to uncover opportunities for alignment between supply chain operations and various organisational functions, fostering collaborative efforts to amplify our impact.
  • Represent the organisation in different forums, conferences and working groups, contributing insights and advocating for the advancement of supply chain practices.
  • Develop and motivate your team to optimize employee satisfaction and performance.
  • Continue the development of the global procurement agenda.
  • Ensure that the Global Supply Chain Unit is configured to support the regional operations with technical expertise in the areas of logistics-, procurement-, fixed asset- warehousing management and fleet management.
  • Continuously ensure that the regulatory framework for the organisation’s procurement & logistics policy and procedures support compliance as well as operational agility.
  • Swiftly adapt to changing humanitarian landscapes ensuring effective decision-making and agile responses to evolving operational demands, including emergencies.
  • Integrate environmental, sustainability and social sustainability principles into the supply chain strategy, promoting responsible practices that minimise the organisations impact on the environment and local communities.
  • Ensure that the organisation’s investment in Microsoft Dynamics System produces the benefits and return on investment as anticipated. In particular the improved options for management information, analytics and BI to support better and more strategic decision making.

The Head of Unit will work closely with the Head of FRISC to enable the achievement of the division’s collective objectives and leverage the achievement of the DRC 2025 strategic objectives through the work of the division.

The Head of Unit has a portfolio of individual tasks in the Global Supply Chain Unit and contributes to the day-to-day delivery of ongoing development, continuous improvements & services and support to the regional offices and to management.

About you

To be successful in this role, we expect that you have the following experience, skills, and education:

  • A senior level technical expertise (10 years) within one or more areas of the supply chain
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant technical supply chain areas.
  • Management certificate, preferably related to the supply chain area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Danish, French, Spanish or Arabic
  • Good knowledge of and experience working in Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations) ERP Solution
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector and knowledge of DRCs operating model

We offer

Contract length: permanent contract, full time 37h per week

Workplace: DRC HQ, Borgergade 10, Copenhagen, Denmark

Start date: as soon as possible.

This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and Lederaftalen (Management agreement).
