As Head of Global Salary Unit and part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with dedicated and experienced colleagues from around the world, and contribute to making a difference for people affected by conflict and disasters. You will have managerial responsibility for 4 skilled employees.

We are looking for a candidate with leadership skills, professional knowledge in accounting and relevant experience in payroll work. It is an advantage, but not a requirement if you have technical system knowledge. We use, among other things, Unit4 Payroll and the Oracle HRM system.

Areas of responsibility:

Responsibility for the payroll unit which calculates and pays salaries to approximately 330 employees at the head office, 630 employees on international contracts, and to 400 NORCAP employees on international deployments. The employees play a decisive role in our projects, and wages make up approximately 40% of NRC's total costs. Handling of salaries in NRC is complex and involves many different salary compensation packages and strict requirements for compliance with tax and social security reporting in Norway, country of employment and home country. Main duties:

Ensure correct and timely salary payments for Head Office, international employees and deployed

Quality assurance that salary payments are made to the correct person and corresponding bank accounts and ensure timely processing of the bank's compliance/investigative cases

Ensure that special conditions that require advances, travel claims and refunds that are processed by the Head Office are handled and reported correctly

Advice for, as well as being a partner for HR Head Office, HR Global and HR NORCAP in remuneration processes including annual negotiations, assessments and adjustments

Responsible for reconciliation of payroll transactions against relevant Unit4 ERP accounts and to NRC audited accounting reports and for facilitating all project related audit requests

Responsible for salary, tax and pension reports for various authorities and institutions being made on time and in accordance with laws and regulations. At all times handle the related payments

Coordinate and ensure consistency across payroll in NRC operations

Coordinating and building competence in the payroll team to ensure that tasks and activities are carried out according to strategies, plans and procedures

Initiate and contribute to developing procedures and upgrading payroll systems to meet future needs

Qualifications/abilities:

Professional knowledge in accounting and relevant experience in payroll work

Preferably technical system knowledge and preferred experience of Unit4 Payroll and Oracle HRM systems

Experience from change management

Knowledge of international salary packages

Knowledge of Norwegian and preferably international tax rules for income

Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken

Accurate and precise

Financial analytical skills
