Job Overview: The purpose of Guard position is to provide service support to the Health, Safety and Security department in Kabul Central NRC office. the position holder will be reporting directly to HSS Coordinator of Kabul Central Office in order to run his duties smoothly with security standards of NRC.

Responsibilities:

Generic responsibilities:

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement.
  • Perform according to the work and development plan.
  • Looks for the security of the office, office compound and staff in the office.
  • Development of holistic and needs based programmes, including cash-based interventions and marked based programmes

Specific responsibilities:

  • Looks for the security of the office and staff in the office.
  • Keeps all the windows and doors locked when the staff members leave the office. Keeps the office responsible informed of any incident in the neighborhood.
  • Make sure to inform other guards about unauthorized people park their vehicles in front of the office.
  • Does not allow any body enters to the office without informing office responsible.
  • Does not allow any suspicious packages to the compounds unless authorized by Supervisor.
  • Checks everybody entering to the office.
  • Registers all the visitors coming to the office and reports to responsible
  • Checks the heaters in the morning and continuously keeps checking it.
  • Checks all security lights and reports if there is any loss during his working time.
  • Controls the water accessibility in the office (water pump, pipes).
  • Switches on and off all lights of the building on time.
  • Must clean the compound and guard room regularly and keep all the materials arranged.
  • Has to help cleaner in some parts of their work (heater cleaning, washing heavy/big items.
  • Must obey and work according the time and schedule given by her supervisor.
  • Must respect the visitors and behaviour them gently.
  • Performs any other duty given to her by her supervisor

Generic professional competencies:

  • High School graduated.
  • 2 years of working experience as Security Guard with International/Humanitarian NGOs
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Able to speak well on both local languages (Dari & Pashto) English is plus point.
  • Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market based programmes
