You have:
- General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level)
- A minimum of five (05) years experience working in graphic design, photo editing and page layout
- Relevant and proven experience in designing high quality publications and printing procedures under limited supervision
- Proven ability to present information using visualizations such as graphics, maps and tables
- Capacity to deliver high-quality products against short deadlines
- High proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite or related design software
- Knowledge of UNICEF style, design and mandate is an asset
- Proficiency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is desirable.

How can you make a difference?
This is to set up a roster of a graphic design consultants to support UNICEF Sri Lanka tell stories in a creative and graphically engaging manner, to inform and raise awareness about strategic issues related to children and country office key achievements in collaboration with its partners.
Rostered consultants will be contacted on an ad hoc basis, as needs arise, and will be engaged to design different publications and communication materials either or both in English, Sinhala and / or Tamil, based on the specifications to be provided by UNICEF Sri Lanka. This will include, but not exclusively, publications, brochures, leaflets, folders, roll-ups, banners and other communication and advocacy materials.
The consultant is expected to implement the following in close coordination with the concerned Programme Section and the Communication and Advocacy Section :
- The consultant should make three creative suggestions for each deliverable.
- After the approval of the creative concept, the consultant should prepare an initial design based on draft content and provide technical specifications for printing.
- After the final approval of the design, final content will be provided to complete the creative work.
- The office will be allowed up to three corrections/editing in the file after the design approval.
- The consultant should deliver ready to print and editable design files (preferably InDesign CS5 compatible with idml file, Adobe Illustrator CS5 compatible, Adobe Photoshop CS5 compatible) to enable further editing by the country office and posting in digital platforms.
- When required, the consultant should develop appropriate original illustrations or source appropriate photographs under the guidance of UNICEF.
- The illustrators or photographers shall be acknowledged in the use of illustration, and ensure that rights to images, or any other material included in the design and layout are of free use to UNICEF. The copyright for future use of illustrations in the publication shall be that of UNICEF.
- The consultant should follow UNICEF branding guidelines. The colour scheme shall be indicated.
- The consultant shall be responsible for ensuring quality and consistency across the range of documents being produced

Specific deliverables and timeframe will be agreed on the basis of the materials to be designed.
All design project must include the below deliverables:
- Files ready for print and in correct file format and size, with printer marks;
- Files optimized for web/email;
- Original design files; (InDesign with IDML file, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- All final materials should be submitted via DVD/USB/External hard drive/downloadable links with all above files
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have¦

Conditions:
- Selected candidates will be placed in a consultant roster and will be engaged on a needs-basis. When assessing consultants on the roster for specific assignments, the agreed pricing/fees, availability and technical expertise will be reviewed prior to contracting decisions.
- Consultants will be responsible for procuring their own health insurance, with COVID-19 coverage; all work will take place remotely, and no office space on UNICEF premises will be required; consultants are expected to utilize their personal equipment to deliver the projects, and UNICEF will not be responsible for procuring any hardware and software
