Result of Service Timely delivery of Graphic Designs compliant with requirements and quality guidelines To liaise with the software production and elearning development team and clients to understand the requirements, document them, and create required designs. Design project and concept-specific graphics. Compile designs into thoughtful interactive prototypes. Timely delivery of technical documents, configuration, and material management aligned with the specifications, quality, and deadlines

Expected duration The initial Contract is from 01 January 2022 – 31 December 2022 (12 months) with a possibility of extension.

Duties and Responsibilities The UN’s Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) defines the strategic direction for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to the UN Secretariat. It oversees ICT programs, budgets, and decision-making to align with the Secretariat’s overall ICT strategy. The Strategic Solutions unit in India is supporting various ICT development initiatives for its HQ at Vienna, Austria. In this unit, we are looking for a passionate Graphics Designer to create unique user experiences, products, and interaction concepts. Design seamless and pixel-perfect User Interfaces for Web and Mobile Apps (iOS + Android). Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Software Production Coordinator, the Graphics Designer will be responsible for the Duties and Responsibilities mentioned below: o Evaluate the cliens needs and advice different methods of design, graphics, illustrations o Visualize and create engaging and interactive designs/layouts for e-learning courses to be used on multiple devices. o Convert images and ideas into visually appealing designs. o Brainstorm and conceptualize ideas, with the ability to produce quick sketches. o Design and create an overall look and feel for motion graphics projects. o Collaborate with the design team to come up with unique and engaging creative experiences. o Provide guidance and discuss ideas for designs, graphics, illustrations, and animations with team members before providing them for the final production. o Provide expertise on training and scaling up of associate Graphic Developers and Animators. o Communicate effectively with the development team. o Maintain project documentation and course folders during the project lifecycle.; o Work is in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment o Ensures data security and integrity. o Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe XD. Should be an adept design-thinker. Should be able to visualize the big picture of a project into product concepts and design directions. Should have a good understanding of web and mobile app design ecosystem. Should be able to use prototyping tools such as Invision or Zeplin. A demonstrable personal portfolio, or a portfolio over Dribbble, Behance, or Uplabs. Should be familiar with paradigms such as Flat, Material, Flat 2.0, etc. Should have a knack to stay updated about the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies. Familiarity with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Animate will be a good addition Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree/diploma in any stream. Preference would be given to qualified fine art graduates Experience: Minimum five years of experience with graphic designs for web-based responsive applications or in the eLearning domain. Language: Good command of English is required.
